Weird, I haven't had any issues extracting the zip. I'm on Win10, and running 7zip. Downloaded with either Chrome, or Edge browsers.
OK, probably a recent compression algoritm. Suppressed WINRAR 4.01(64bit) and installed PEAZIP and it's done. Sorry for the thread trouble. You can suppress it if you want and thank you for this tool !
Well, is this tool working with new release of Empyrion of this afternoon ? Because impossible to connect my testing server. I will wait for a new version. EDIT : I needed to add this program on windows firewall to make it working. Empyrion Server is on the same machine.
I use 7Zip to make the archive. (www.7-zip.org) It is free and fast. I don't know why you have to do this. The Program does not listen on any Port it only connects via Telnet to the given Server. You can take a look via the Windows-Resourcemanager or something like "Process Hacker 2" what Ports the Program use and all Servers the Program connects to. Here you have another Archive. I use Windows to make it.
Hello, Thank you Elinox for your answer. Yes, i think my winrar app was too old an on LINUX my zip app is probably too. Well, this part of my problem is solved. For the firewall i tryed wit machine IP and "localhost" with no success. I nedded to add this app on windows firewall to unlock internal telnet connection. Well, it is working like this and i consider it solved too Bye !
Yep, it's probably the cause. Because telnet request is internal, the firewall don't ask for authorize it. I didn't try to execute your program with admin power. So, it's not a big problem but if you are not sensibilised with firewall problems, you should search a lot of time ! System is on Windows Seven 64 pro. Internal working structure not modified.
Thanks for this, neat tool! I'd like to offer a suggestion. To make it easier to see when a new release is available, it would help if the opening post were updated to add a running change log by version and date, and include the most recent version for download.
... or simply put the latest version on first topic and add a "UP!" on a new topic in this thread ...
I Updated the first Post ... there is a new Tool to generate the dedicated.yaml. All Configdata saved in an inifile so new config values in the future can added without rewriting all configdata.
Well, it dont work anymore. It says i am connected but no return from tenlet. I have errors messages but dont understand german language. It ask me for password... Enter password: on right window... So not a firewall problem assurely. EDIT : It work well on a seven plateform on a different machine. The question is : why it worked once on same machine than server and stopped working today ???
Can you send a screenshot from this errormessage? You have to enter your password in the passwordfield next to the "Connect" Button. The right "window" is only for outputs.
EmpCon Version 0.1.1.9 is now online with the first implement of the ChatBot feature. Goto first Post in this thread for more info's.
This might be tricky but a feature that enables a server reboot in the middle of the day when there's less than X people online? A lot of servers can use 2-3 reboots a day with the current state of Empyrion so a feature like this would be real awesome and take a lot of pressure from the admins of the servers I think.
@Alo: This is a great Idea ... I think about it and will implement this feature in one of the next versions. For now I'm working on Kick Ban and to implement this features via ingame chat. I will make a Soft and a Hardlimit for reboots. So you can setup a time for reboot. If there users online -> wait for xx minutes and inc the "RebootWait-Counter" After xx minutes check again for online users .... After yy try's the program will send out a serverchat to warn the online users (5 Minutes, 3 Minutes, One Minute) then the server force the restart. I think this is a good way to deal with the reboots.
Awesome man! I regularly play on a server that needs at least two reboots a day to keep everything smooth (on busy days even more often). A reboot every couple of hours without the admin having to worry about it is just what it needs. Thanks!
Sounds like a nice feature to add! I think somebody suggested started a git pull on github, did you set that up yet? Makes updates much easier than searching this thread. =)
