Note: I use a laptop to play Empyrion from and have a dedicated PC I use to host games with, Empyrion being one of them. I've been hosting a ded server on and off since Alpha 8 and never experienced this issues before. Both PC's have been updated properly (laptop with the game and server with the ded server version to host) So I decided to jump back into Empyrion and last played around 1.45-1.5. I didn't see anything absolutely critical to restart my seed and wanted to see if it would function right. I got stuck with a 'Downloading... Files' screen for almost 2 hours as apparently files were requested from my attempting to log on. When that finally finished I got an internal error and had to quit. When I booted up putty I saw the playfield was failing to startup properly and the server would close and attempt to restart a new instance. This failed every time. I verified integrity of Steam files and 2 came back with issues (dedicated.yaml and serverstart.bat), which I thought was a little odd. So I went back and edited the ded.yaml properly to host my older seed. Same playfield issues. So then I tried a new seed and let it generate a new world, to my surprise it had the same playfield issues. Was also unable to saveandexit via putty as it kept saying a playfield is attempting to start and would just repeat this cycle over and over. There's a lot of weird log files that were generated and after sifting through them, I'm not sure what all is actually relevant. A lot of the files have WARNING: shader unsupported, and I'm not sure if it's related or not because it sounds like a GPU problem, which shouldn't matter for a server. So I've uploaded 2 log files that seem to represent the majority of all the other log files that have generated.
Hello, It appears a configuration file hasn't been updated in your Content/Configuration folder. Fomr the Playfield logs: "Entity reference 'AlienBug01' not found on 'AlienBug03' ". Open your content folder: Right click on Empyrion in your steam library > Properties > Local files > Browse local files > Content & delete it then run the steam verify files option to get the latest configs: Right click on Empyrion in your steam library > Properties > Local files > Verify Integrity of game files If you are using a save that uses a custom scenario the Author of the scenario needs to update the configs & upload a updated version to the steam workshop.
Hi Pantera, thanks for the response. Last night I ended up replacing the config and gameoptions files after noticing they weren't updated with the new game version and were smaller in size than their new seed file counterparts. I had issues initially not being able to connect and hanging on server connection but noticed no issues on the server end playfield wise. After that mini-update the other day everything worked just fine. Cheers!
