For more information see here Bug Report Template Build: 1.11.10 4546 Mode: All Platform: Steam or EPIC (Steam users should only leave Steam here & EPIC users should only leave EPIC here) DLC Installed: SERVER NAME: SEED-ID: If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: Reproducibility: Always Severity: Minor Type: Visual Summary: Glare from a SUN on a glass Description: When I moving in my ships from a Sun I usually have annoying glare on ship windows if they are perpendicular. Steps to Reproduce: 1) Spawn a ship with front windows oriented perpendicular and no back or side windows. 2) Start moving away from a Sun. Sun should be directly behind you. 3) Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links: Glare Right in a center and it will move with changing ship direction. Ship has no back windows.
I get that... a lot, I've changed the windows and the angles, replaced light sources, (incase the light is clipping through from another room) moved my seat, tried everything I could think of and in the end I just try to ignore it or face the ship in another direction... so yeah, it's annoying (Steam)
It's like this for like forever, and it was not adressed yet. It's a common Game engine Problem with reflections and culling of objects not in view. I.e. the engine does only render what you see, and also only uses those objects for shadows (blocking the sun) when calculating reflections. In ground bases you can sometimes see like out of a window if you got internal windows but with a wall behind. (disabling reflections in graphics menu kind of solves this, but it's just a workaround, no fix and the sun always has reflection even if you turn it off in options)
Yes. There are reflections problems in underground levels inside POIs. I saw them on lava planets. Don't know are they related to this issue.
