Build: 1.11.7 4480 Mode: Creative/Survival Mode: Single Player/Multi Player DLC Installed: Installed, not active on save Reproducibility: Always Severity: Minor Type: Deco Consoles Summary: The hologram of a powered holographic map console (ConsoleMapMS01) overlaps surrounding blocks, which prevents you from shooting enemies or devices in its vicinity until it is destroyed Description: The hitbox around a powered map console is broken to the point where trying to shoot objects around it will instead damage the map console. There is no visible hit indicator, so players may believe they are shooting an enemy in their crosshairs but are in fact damaging a console that is potentially out of visual range. Worse, the enemies can sometimes shoot back at you fine. If the structure is powered off and the holograms are not present, the hit detection appears to work correctly. Steps to Reproduce: Load the attached "Map_Console_Tester" blueprint and spawn it on a planet Fuel the base and power it on so that the map holograms show Equip a rifle and walk along the path shooting the tall red consoles behind and in front of the map consoles. Observe that the map consoles around them are typically destroyed before the red consoles are damaged Repeat test with a second base, but powered off. Observe that the red consoles can be destroyed as expected. I have tested this on multiple planets with the same effect. I did not fully test all the deco blocks. Some just have collision hulls that don't perfectly match their geometry (like the box collider around some tank models). This mapping console was the only one I've been seeing affect hits in an adjacent voxel space. If there are others you know of, maybe mention them specifically in this thread so they can be looked at too.
You must take in to consideration that more detailed hitboxes costs some performance so not all deco/devices will get more detailed hitboxes. Create a separate thread in the feedback subforum & we will consider looking at ones that get posted there when schedules allow BUT like I said there is limits on making hitboxes more detailed due to the performance costs (we have already done some profiling with more detailed hitboxes some time ago & the cost was too high) so there is no guarantee on any submissions getting changed. The issue with the OP will be looked at as soon as the dev who is attached to it can get to it.
