Description: Any POI which has the MapDistance value set in playfield_static.yaml does not show on map until within MapDistance, even after discovery, and still activates the detector. Steps to Reproduce: Easiest is to start a game on the Temperate Swamp starter, starter wreckage has MapDistacne set and none of the wrecks register on the map. Hi Hummel. It seems to be working on a new game started on 2514, but not in the existing save where I noticed the problem. I can send you that save if it's likely to be of any use, otherwise good going forward.
Correction - started another 10.0.0.3 game to play and discovered that this is still not working Save game here (Eden project, default temperate swamp starter) :- https://www.dropbox.com/s/qjxs6x9lvnvke2d/mapdistance bug.zip?dl=0 From save point small wreckage and nest are flagged, large wreckage is near escape pod, all have disappeared from map, and are being shown as undiscovered by detector.
How exactly is this fixed? Would I need to do any changes to existing scenario files (if it is fixed?)
The same problem for me. I´ve reintalled the game (V 10.1.0 2517) and started a new sp survival: Still the newly scanned POI's disappear after leaving the area and will shown as new on the scanner.
Can you please make sure to start this with a FRESH 10.1 savegame as the detector bug related to this was fixed by then and OLD savegames might have carried over that bug probalby. @Fenraa > is this a pre-10.1 Savegame? Can you plz cross-check if the same issue happens for you in a fresh SP game? Thx!
Hi Hummel. I tried this with the latest version, as I had already written on Tuesday. - completely reinstalled the game - new game start (10.1.0 2517) in single player survival, no changes on any yaml Retested again. Same problem.
So there are 2 Issues named here 1. Poi with map distance set do not show on map when out of range > please check as this is intentional with any poi that has no core 2. detector showing a discovered poi with mapdistance as undiscovered when going out of range > I am not able to reproduce this anymore. If this is still your issue I would need the savegame
Here is a complete new save game. All my discovered small wrackages and the spider nest will not shown on the map. The Polaris POIs in the south are visible. But one change I´ve see: The detector doesn't show the discoerd POIs as new.
Checked back with the devs and there are 2 things to know . - if a poi has set a mapdistance or huddistance this will override the usual behavior: if you have set f.ex 250m mapdistance the Poi will vanish from the map if you are farther away Always. Not regarding the Core status - if you set huddistance >0 and mapdistance to zero, you get an undiscoverable poi that will only show up on map or Hud. So the described observation of POIs with mapdistance set is intentional - as the settings are exactly for that: define a fixed distance for discovery/visibility (so no bug and no change to be expected) —- The issue with the detector (discovered poi showing up again) has been fixed with 10.1.
