I've done that quest in past versions, the Polaris fleet is rare but it does exist. Just keep looking. I believe there is a note in the description of the field that specifically says there is a Polaris fleet present, so you shouldn't need to fly to the asteroids themselves to see.
SPOILER ALERT! Don't read if you don't want the quest spoiled! What is the lock code for the core at Relay 451? I was in combat when the text flashed by and now I can't check the core for tampering, and it's not in the log. By the way, I suggest you put the all the codes in the log. They aren't all there, and sometimes we get interrupted (like I did by the Zirax Corvette patrolling near one of the relays) and we can't always stop what we're doing to write it down before it disappears. Not complaining, love the quest so far, very inventive!
All dialogs with access codes are present in the PDA log and remain there after completing the quest. Try again to select a specific quest and open the PDA log. P.S. I keep looking for Polaris fleet P.S.2 relay code send to private conversation at forum
Thanks for the code. I checked the log again and found it, so it's there, just was expecting it to be the last part of the dialog, not higher up.
After checking from fifty planetary systems and spending pentaxide, which is enough to build a small palace of gold, I was already returning home and found the right officer thanks for help
The question of relations between factions. Just yesterday, I watched the following situation - a zyrax troop transport lands a trooper next to Talon's vilage, which starts attacking me, but completely ignores the talons standing next to me. Do NPC factions fight with each other at all? Just pretending? Polaris ship can safely fly under the nose of the Zyrax destroyer?
Problem with Arid Start on Reforged Eden: Start Planet Menu states "Planet LARGE" While actually... No old Data here - deleted all Cache and Save-Games AND verified by Steam. No Change.
Factions don't fight each other with the exception that some will attack legacy. Can't be changed. It's just a display bug. Try new seeds until you get one with the planet size you want in game.
Look in the playfield's file, at the top, and see if it's something like this : PlanetSize: SizeRange: [3,4,5] SizeProbs: [0.65,0.30,0.05] << ex. for size 4 change this to be [0.0,1.0,0.0] --- total of the 3 probs has to be 1 So to be sure to get X size, it's quite easy to do : simply have probabilities to zero for unwanted sizes. That's for a "random" playfield. For a fixed playfield, it's even simpler : Seed: 123456 PlanetSize: 4 .
Yes it is a bug, you just have to try a new game until you get the planet size you want in the actual game. The size listed in the start screen doesn't necessarily match up with what you'll get using the seed you chose so you just have to start it and see.
Those Alien Races are not at War with each other. All Zirax Factions, the Polaris and Talon live together a long time. They don't have to like each other but they don't fight each other - each one of them follows their own Desire. Kriel are a different thing. Legacy is a Enemy to them all - including Humans.
LOL I was just coming to ask the same question. Most asteroid fields just have fields, and none has a Polaris ship. Wondering if its RE or an actual vanilla bug ?
You need to find an asteroid field with a Polaris claim and a "Polaris mining operation" mark (as in the screenshot). And hope that this is where the Polaris Foreman Vessel will be. I checked more than 50 star systems, found a little less than a dozen asteroid fields with the necessary markings, and only in the last did the desired ship appear.
Ok, going to seek a bit deeper in the galaxy, then Tks for the tip ... I first need to collect more pentaxid ...
Any Polaris mining operation should have the foreman but of course it won't appear in another factions territory. It doesn't mention this but you can sometimes find one in orbit around planets around A G and F stars too. They are rare but you only need to find one then you can do the mission repeatedly whenever it's available.
It is a pity that such things are not displayed in the quest dialogue. The usefulness of this quest is now rather doubtful because you need to spend an abyss of fuel in order to purposefully complete it. I now have a similar problem with the Talons faction quests - in the quest dialogue it is written that they can be completed on any planet where there is a Talon clan with the Settlement structure. But in reality, we flew around the entire buffer zone between the Zyrax claim, the Trader's guild and part of the pirate territory. On any suitable planet, quests break at the initial stage - an attempt to put a marker on the village of coupons (seen in the screenshot). That is, in order to complete these quests, you will have to return to the starting systems - there is no other way.
The NearPOI function of the missions breaks when the target is in a different playfield. It requires a relog/restart of the game. Blame Eleon for sub-par tools.
