The talon missions will also only work on the default temperate class planet. The non default types are not set up to work with reforged (too many playfields). The mining foreman was rare to find but it's actually a higher chance to find it than a standard Polaris field around D stars. I've increased the chance multiple times already. You don't have to take the mission until you find one.
The Talon faction quests require a TribalVillageStone POI. The screenshot shows what the search for playfields gave. Do you need one of these POIs for the quest or all at once? (AND / OR) Check: NearPoi Names: - TribalVillageStone - TribalVillageWood - TribalVillageStoneStoryRG - TribalVillageWoodStoryRG - TribalVillageWoodStory - TribalVillageStoneStory
I finally found him on my very last jump before Object1. Just to say I travelled 300 light years to find him, watching all systems I went through Is it only D stars ? In the tips, it says D and K class (if I'm not wrong - not ingame yet), I found really few D class systems during my travel, so I mostly checked K systems.
D class stars have a 80% chance of having at least 1 asteroid field. Each asteroid field has a 40% chance to be a Polaris field. Each Polaris field has a 60% chance to be a mining operation. Ignoring the chance that there are 2 or 3 asteroid fields and just assuming only 1 field max, about 1 in 5 D class stars should have a Polaris Mining Operation. M class stars have a 100% chance of an asteroid field. 40% chance for it to be a Polaris field. And a 40% chance it's a mining operation. So about 1 in 6 M class stars should have a mining operation, ignoring the chance that there could be 2 asteroid fields instead of just 1. The foreman also has a 20% chance to spawn in any G-class orbit (G, F, and A class stars use this orbit type for most of their non-gas giant orbits). And all mining foremen show up on the local map automatically so you don't need to do any scanning to find them. But that's just the math, doesn't mean you won't get unlucky.
Tks a lot for these informations. D&M, you're right. D&K is for dead planets. I think I made a mistake in my quest at this point, I was mostly looking on D&K planets (mostly K because so few D) because I was also looking for this bloody class 5 dead planet I still can't find Maybe I skipped too many M-class planets. First of all, I wanted to thank you again, and Vermillion, for the awesome work you do, including this help on the forum ! I'm now on the third key for object82 ... going forward. Just awesome, I love the quest ! Need mooooore pentaxid on my way ... What could be nice, and I know it can be a lot of work, is to add those stats in the help section you created. I still can't understand devs don't give a way or another to better understand those things, like you just did, letting everyone randomly seek what they're looking for without really understanding what's happening.
Vermillion, FYI on Kenex Station 62: There is a shotgun human soldier that spawns within the core area (visible on the same level as the Zirax trader at the top of the main area stairs. Above the giant KENEX sign) that is NOT Polaris, and thusly, consistently shoots at you until you kill him. Noticed it my 1st playthru of the station, and now confirmed on the second pass. I THINK he is the only one without the correct faction affiliation. If you need a screenie of the area in question let me know. (I am not ready to actually do the tasks of the mission further yet, had to book it out of there as the interceptors were circling like vultures) I was just getting the teleport accessible and buying some weapon upgrades ATM.
It's meant as an exploration scenario so many things won't be in the PDA or a guide (unless players make one). But I will be adding in more ways of finding hints and such in the game. This is very different from the default game where everything is in the PDA and in the starting solar system.
He's there to keep players out of the core room. But he's meant to be on the lower floor. Unfortunately, he can climb the elevator by pure chance, so i'm gonna have to stick a door over the elevator to keep him in the lower area.
Also, for anyone wondering what the new storyline missions are like. Here's spanj's current playthrough through the last mission of the series (so far). Spoiler alert though.
The writing is SO much better. Thanks very much for the effort on this! RE in general is a totally different vibe - I'm scurrying about trying to avoid being noticed by anyone rather than Rambo-ing everything.
Agreed with above...RE/RG/PE is nearly like playing an entirely new video game all together. In Vanilla, even on the hardest settings I could manage, I never counted the number of plant protein or wood I was harvesting...but now, at least for the first hours of the game, every single decision has to be considered.
I feel a bit like a noob, but there's something I don't understand. Many items ask for "salvaged drone processors", and I can't figure out how to get them.
Those are from the project eden side of things. I believe you can get them from the CV drones in some asteroid fields. Drone Assembler, Drone Harvester, Drone Extractor, etc... Those are only needed for the ultimate endgame stuff.
Like Vermillion said. You can find them in M2 and R class systems on the outer edges of each of the spiral arms of the main galaxy.
I didn't find Talon Story Structures in the default Temperate planet script. Only in the configuration of the starting planets. It should not be? The problem is that due to such restrictions, it is advisable not to fly far from the starting planets.
about the furnace: Is it intentional tianium ore is no longer processed? I think it was bevore... (I know aluminium and magnesium are only constructor) Also I noticed it melts down the sathium and titanium plates, is that new? thanks
Titanium ore not smelting in the furnace is a bug. The config appears to be in order, so I have no idea what the cause is. It may be in vanilla. Melting down sathium and titanium plates has been in for a few months. I attempted to add steel plates as well, but the deconstructor flips out if there's multiple recipes.
Drones : So I found a star with those LGC Drones around planets and asteroids. I'm in SP. I could put one CV drone down, but was attacked at the same time by the whole galaxy : around 10 CV drones and maybe 15 SV drones or more falling on me, just impossible to harvest the drone I shot down. Tried again somewhere else : same problem. Everywhere, I just have time to flee away, they are too numerous. And it says that the wreckage will auto-destroy in less than 5 minutes, so no way to run away and come back a bit later. There is a too big gap between nothing and the full armada Maybe it could be good that around some stars or planets, we could just spot one or two drones, so that we can train, test our CV, understand what those drones are, and slowly start to make our CV stronger ;-)
