Some of the inconsistencies are probably because the project Eden items are balanced against vanilla values, not reforged. I can set them up to easily be adjusted for reforged but I haven't had the time to yet. But since the vanilla values are all over the place that would probably throw off my custom weapons. Ideally there would be a way to show all this info on the tooltips but that is just not possible. There's a limit to how much you can actually show. Putting it in the pda is also difficult at least for me because it means having to keep that info up to date, and nobody reads the pda anyway.
i just want to throw in my two cents regarding the payouts for delivering the big cargo packages. the 8 or 64 or 320ksu ones you get from trade guild distribution centers. i ran a few small ones to see what it was all about and the pay was basically nothing considering how much pentaxid i used to make the run, but i assumed the big 320k ones would pay a lot better, enough to justify building a big freighter able to carry at least 10 or 20 of them. but 20k profit a piece already isnt great, but add the fact you can only sell 2 to each location makes it a pretty big waste of time. with a much smaller ship i can go to a polaris class 3 mining site and make 100k mining ilmenite in like 30 minutes. i think allowing to buy/sell 20 smalls, 10 meds, and 5 larges per location, and payout 3-5k for smalls, 15-20k for mediums, 50-100k for larges would be closer to what i think would be appropriate.
Thank you, I've been thinking the same as well. Wanted to start those off small due to possible exploits I might not have thought of. Next update I'll be adjusting the costs and payouts and stock.
I do!) It's more informative then one might think. I appreciate the job you or Vermillion did in the Empyriopedia (or whatever the name), I use it all the time.
Ah yes, that makes sense - that does sound like it would involve a lot of overhead that needs to be constantly tracked. Well, keeping personal spreadsheets it is. Thanks again for your hard work on the scenario!
Got a few questions about getting platinum. In my old game I had enough of it, i discovered 2 asteroids around hot stars, i think. It was also displayed from the system map. Now I jump around and nowhere is the little platinum icon in asteroid fields, or on planets. But sometimes there is a missing symbol with tool-tip saying something about eden resource (i forgot to make screenshot). Those asteroid fields are normally guarded and have asteroids that are not listed in the system map. Can i find platinum in one of those fields? Also is the icon still displayed for planets and asteroid fields? Or do i need to go somewhere farther away to get platinum (I'm still near alpha)?
Platinum is mostly found on very difficult planets (such as Midnight or some types of Plasma), or in high class mining sites or alien asteroid fields. You can also buy it or get it from loot too.
In the latest version on the starting swamp planet (aka Roggery), is there a DroneBase? There are problems with new tasks: 1) Instigator-Graverobber stage -> Find the Talon Burial Chamber 2) Freedom fighter-stage -> Approach DroneBase Now I can't find a starting planet that has DroneBase and Burial Chamber. As a result, one of the quests breaks down with a message in the console stating that the desired object cannot be found.
Hi, Random query.... Is there any way a compact (1x1x1 block) BA-Class Generator and Fuel Tank block could be added? I often find myself making mini-bases, more Outpost than base, that just has to run Lights, O2 (if needed) and perhaps a single turret. I thought a Single block device that generates 25% of the power of a Small Generator and holds 50% of the fuel of a small Fuel Tank would be pretty nice. For clarity, I've set up a tiny base on an Ince Planet next to a Promethium Deposit I'm auto-mining - depletion off - and I've also placed down one (first of several) Water Generators. I've built a small, currently solar-powered, Outpost around this location, more for aesthetics and fun of the build than anything. However, this got me thinking that a compact Generator / Fuel Tank combo for such low-power outposts would be dead cool. It'd also be a nice option for a starting base on starts where resources / materials are really rare. What do people think? Scoob.
Fuel Tank and Generator are two different block classes. They cannot be combined. There's the RTG though (1x1x1). If you have a fuel tank with promethium in it, it will produce 2kW of power without consuming fuel, and another 500W on top of that as a regular generator. It is however, one of the rarest loot-only items in the game.
Hi. just started a new game in 1.5.6 and I have an issue with containers. For whatever reason containers on vehicles are not expanding over 64 slots when items are placed in the bottom row. Base containers are expanding as expected. I cannot reproduce this in vanilla or PE, so it seems to be a Reforged issue, or is this intended?
Containers or Controllers? If it's controllers: Ammo and Harvest will not expand, only the Cargo Controllers will. That's their special effect; while the Ammo and Harvest controllers supply ammunition and obtain ore/wood/salvage. If all three expanded to the same size, there would be no purpose in the Cargo Controller existing at all.
That makes sense, my starter hover just has one storage attached to a harvest controller so I can hoover up the wood. Loving reforged, although going back to voxel mining is a wrench, thanks for the great work
That makes sense. Never heard of the RTG lol. On another note, I always thought Solar was wasted when it came to having the option to "charge" other things. I.e. say the player had a pure Solar Base - which is perfectly practical - wouldn't it be great if we could charge a utility HV (for example ) from the base. I.e. the HV would have a battery only - something that's been discussed a few times over the years, but likely still just as far away from reality. However, I did wonder if it might be possible to add a new type of Fuel Pack. All it needs is Steel Plate but it takes more energy to produce than it actually contains. I.e. one of these Fuel packs would contain say 100 units of energy, using the current metric, but would take 300 units of energy to produce. So, you'd NEVER waste Promethium on this, but when powered from Solar, it'd be a "free" fuel pack in effect. I wonder if this could be implemented? I supposed it'd be (in theory) possible to balance the build time so it took a certain amount of energy to produce. However, I wonder if a new device (based on the Small Constructor) would be better as it could be a specialised device, part of the Solar group, just for producing this "free" fuel. That way, it could have a set power-draw per second, with a set time to produce (potentially) different levels of Solar Fuel Pack. Ultimately, devs willing, chargeable batteries for vessels would be dead cool, but being able to craft some sort of Solar Fuel Pack purely using energy and perhaps a Steel Plate or two would be pretty cool. Being able a to "charge up" my smaller vessel's fuel tanks with these would be most satisfying. Just wondering what you thought about such an option? Scoob.
Hi, I just encountered a space wreck called "Damaged Spacecraft". It's blocks are all actually large block size, but they're actually labelledsmall blocks. For example, it's CV size, but has things like "Small Jet Thruster" and the blocks show as "Steel Block (Small)". Some blocks though are large, for example "Large RCS" so this POI - which looks dead cool - is a bit of a hybrid. Edit: Just noticed the Turrets are CV-Class Flak... I do wonder if it's actually meant to be an SV, but some accidental Large blocks have "upgraded" it. Thought I'd found a good CV loot opportunity, disappointed lol. Scoob.
Ok cool, thanks for confirming. I didn't recognise the POI, so thought it might be one added by this Scenario. Scoob.
Seems like the balance is off for the Promethium Hydrocell. These give twice the output of the Dual Fuelcell, but mass 2.5x as much, and are 2.33x larger volume, I can't see any benefit to using them.
You get twice as much power per promethium pellet over regular fuel cells. They're not for saving space, they're for maximizing power production.
