Is there a way to use the same saved game between Steam and Epic Store installations? Which condition is better? Can manual copy work? Are there any special files need to be transferred too?

    1. By either installing the game twice in different folders per store.
    2. By installing the game in the same folder for both stores.

I tested condition 2 but each store does not show the saved games of the other. Also regarding blueprints stored locally (not those from workshop since Epic store does not have one), I have noticed that there is a second numerical folder under the folder "Blueprints" which was created automatically after running Empyrion, from Epic store. Empyrion is installed in the same folder "Empyrion - Galactic Survival" from both stores.

Manual copy of scenarios and blueprints works of course. Also creating symbolic links of the needed folders, which is better, I think. But manual copy of save game files did not work. The save folder is the same of course but something seems to be missing.

PS : In general installing software that is handled by two different platforms, is not recommended. The reason for this need, is a bug that affects game play of some games on steam. The bug results in periodically freezing the game for milliseconds. It is open for over a year now, does not affect all steam client installations and of course is not encountered on Epic Store. Also a second reason is academic purposes of course. :D

You need to edit the player file <idnumber>.ply that is given to your account for either platform.

I wrote this once for players wishing to take saves from Epic to steam you can use this info for Steam to Epic also:
You need to replace your player id that Epic has given your "Epic player" with your Steam id:
    1) Copy the Save over from the Epic installation folder to your steam installation of Empyrion:
    "steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Games"
    2) Get your steamid: Go to "steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Blueprints" & right click on the folder with your steam id number & click rename & copy the numbers with right click copy then click away from the folder to cancel the renaming.
    3) Now go in to the save you have brought over now in your Steam directory "steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Games" & open the save folder & open the Players folder.
    4) Rename the player file with your steam id & on the next reload of the game client the save should appear on your steam "Load Game" list.

Thank you for the reply. Your guide is one solution that works and it is safe, but needs double the installation. I managed to test another and I think it is working, at least for vanilla. Not sure about scenarios. All I did was create symbolic links for the folders with the Epic Store id number, pointing to the files with the steam id number.

So in one save game folder, under the "Player" folder there are the original files for one store and two extra symbolic links named after the id of the other store. Active missions and blueprint factory baked vessels are there when you start the game from the other store. Now all you have to do is the same for the "blueprints" folder to give the player access to the offline blueprints. Problem arises when the player creates a copy of a save game. Then a copy of the symbolic links from the original save game is needed, followed by a deletion of the file and folder with the id of the current store.

I did this and it works. One folder with the installed files of Empyrion that can be accessed by both stores and the player can continue the game by loading Empyrion from either store.

Unfortunately I can not upload a png or jpg image to show you a screenshot.
