Types of mod changes that can require new saves?

    I am working on converting the PVP Stargate Next mod to a PVE for my private server.

    I have gotten some of the things copied over such as blocks and the new player start, but good old life is kicking me around a bit and I'm not able to give time needed to get this mod ready for PVE play. I would like to prioritize things that would require a new save if possible so that I can at least get the server up and running and introduce new elements over time as I can find time.

    Is there anything other than a starting location for players that I would have to be worried about? From what I have seen I can add planets/systems after a game has started. I can see no reason why I couldn't add a block. I am assuming something like the introduction of ore could be introduced by simply wiping sectors instead of having to start a new game? Is there anything else I am not thing of that could require a new save?
