sit for three hours while the ship rpaired in multiplayer because i was told if i leave the playfield the repair restarts.
Took a break from playing to do some creative writing …. ++++++++++ Brought to you by the Galaxy Gazette – the final recording of Lt Hargrove, UHC. <recorded static playing with rumbling sounds in the background, the voice of Lt Hargrove can be heard over the noise> The engineer who thought that it was possible to steer an escape pod never tested it in real-life. It’s like grabbing a bull by the horns and saying ‘giddy up pard’ner, let’s go for a little ride!’. My bones are rattled and I must have bumped my head pretty hard because I can’t remember how I got here. What planet is this anyway … Urryn. Hmmm, sounds like whats running down my leg about now. Ok, gotta hold on, ground is coming up fast … really, really fast! Ok, this is going to hurt. That dang engineer should have put a break on this thing! <brief pause followed by crunching metal and an audible ‘ugh!’> Well, at least I’m alive, bruised and battered, but alive. There should be a first aid kit with med-pack bandages around here. Ah, there it is, full health once again. Let’s see what else this pod comes with. Hmmm, not much, but this gizmo-gadget might come in handy. An upgraded multi-tool which appears to have four modes rather than the standard three. My memory must be returning a little - I seem to recall picking it up from some local yocal trying to sell me on a challenging “reforged” vacation spa. They probably used second rate parts on a broken down transport which is why I’m in this fix now. Remind me to punch him in the face the next time I see him. <brief pause with sounds of wildlife whispering in the distance> Appears to be a standard earth-like planet. There’s trees and plant life, not a bad place to …. Wait, what was that? There’s something in the grass … something brown … scurrying … coming this way. Where’s that defense setting on this tool? Ok – got it. C’mon little critter … get some! What? It’s a fricking huge spider! I’m pummeling it with everything I’ve got and dancing around like a care-free drunk at Mardi-Gras. This dang defense mode is like slapping it with a wet noodle, reforged my derriere, re-fricked is more like it! Wait – there’s more? Two. Three. No four frickin’ spiders and a weapon that’s literally worthless. Time to get serious … <lots of laser and squishy sounds which goes on for about five minutes> Whew! I hope that was the last of them. That took forever! Would have been better if I used this worthless so-called ‘weapon’ as a club … but wait, the way it’s designed it CAN’T be used as a club. Must have been another stupid engineer thing. Well, it’s getting dark and for some odd reason I can’t seem to use the flashlight and multi-tool at the same time … another engineering flash of brilliance! Wait … I hear something, sounds like more of those blasted spiders. I HATE spiders. Does this thing have a resource mode? Quick, let me chop down some wood … <sound of trees splintering, followed by a felling crash> Ok, now I’ve got some wood, time to make a fire. Let me drop this pile of wood and …. WHAT? No matches in the survival kit! What stupid lame-brained engineer decided you didn’t need matches in a SURVIVAL KIT in an ESCAPE POD?! Maybe I could use the defense setting to light the wood on fire. WHAT? The defense mode won’t even touch the wood, let alone set it on fire! What stinkin’ engineer designed this stupid <whack> Multi <thunk> Tool <thwack>! <more sounds of beating the ground with the multi-tool> More like a Multi-P.O.S. if you ask me! Oh well, here comes the spiders, and I can’t see a friggin’ thing in the dark. Glad the Escape Pod has a built-in cloning chamber. Note to self … do the galaxy a favor and shoot the next engineer I meet! But now … it’s time to run …. <panting and rapid footsteps followed by a long and wail-some ‘Ahhhhyyyyeeee’ as Lt Hargrove succumbs to the frenzy of forest spiders> ++++++++++ Hope it made you smile
Used the Ghyst set to make a Trade Station. Still needs some interior work, mostly for LCDs, spawners and traders. Front. While constructing it, I was able to identify a few modules that I was missing and built those. Back. One of the Hangars. Bottom floor of the main trading hub. Spoiler
Today in Empyrion, I cried :-(. Screenshot stopped working in Steam so I've been trying to repair it, no luck. As a last resort I decided to "uninstall" Steam - DOH! <hit myself with a sledge hammer> I didn't realize it would delete ALL THE GAME FILES, including the SAVED GAMES! ... LOL. Nothing like starting from scratch ... just glad I uploaded my creations to the workshop .
Note to self, if you are going to complain about inconsistencies in the Robinson Protocol make sure you follow the entire protocol and not just the base building part. My apologies.
What I did today? Guess... After transfering my game in a new game - I did this several times - I was ready to play, I reinstalled my base but it was so misplaced that I had to use the drill to fill the empty space below the base, yeah it was not flat as before... Then I found the result so ugly that I used the destroy command, but my ships were nicely placed on the landing pads and ofc they are all gone now, oh and of course there were full to the raft with ore ingots etc. Time to rage-quit. Now I shall play No Man's Sky or Space Invaders on the MAME platform for some relaxation
When you are watching a YouTube video that features one of your builds, and you notice a texture glitch that you failed to catch..
At least it's fixed now. ... then I started going over old builds and found a CV I had published in 2019 that I had marked as a mobile base, without a med chamber / clone station. SMH. I revisited quite a few old builds, making changes here and there.
Happens to me all the time with my scenario. I'll watch a video and notice all the little things I need to fix and sometimes I literally pause the video to fix it.
Half finished the Xenu Construction Set. The corridor modules for this one are simpler, but the big hangar-corridor modules are big. Could run hoverbike races through these. Personnel Corridors on the left; Big cargo corridors on the right. They double as storage bays, hangars, even housing. Here's the interior of the big ones. Plain straight, Windowed straight, Plain Straight+ internal floor, Plain Straight with Impact Shields, Hangar Attachment. Corners, Curves and Intersection parts. X-Junction.
Already a few days ago but i think i've found the most hilarious way to die in Empyrion: I shat myself to death. I had indigestion so i went to the toilet. While sitting there i drank more milk to get my low food levels up. So i got indigested again. I wanted to get up and sit down again but the F key didn't work. So i was sitting there slowly dying. I made a backup and slowly watched myself die while possibly waking the neighbours at 2:00 am almost falling off my chair laughing. Even when reloading the backup i still couldn't use F to get up. I fixed it by logging into a different savegame and using the toilet there and successfully using F to get up. It seems to have reminded Empyrion that this is actually a viable option.
Just started playing derelict ship mission in ancient revelations. Kudos to whoever did the rework on that POI; it's a real ass-kicker now and taking it solo is scary. Having the legacy talk in your head is fun- "IDA, did you hear that? Hear what?"
More work on the Xenu POI Construction Set today. Finished the mega modules for Xenu (which make the Ghyst ones looks pretty pathetic by comparison since these ones are huge). Small, Medium and Large with a variety of different top/bottom configurations. Underside. Main Floor (empty) Has 3 floors up and 3 floors down for the max-sized module. I wouldn't recommend using more than one module per POI.
