    Speaking of Spawning CVs, it's becoming easier to do but I hope the devs continue to improve the process. I was finally able to spawn in my largest ship after I finished building this extremely large platform in space.

    I have to agree with HV being a beast in a combat role . HVs for me are more entertaining in combat than SVs but that is my personal opinion. I can have 3 or 4 turrets targeting different things on my HV while I just move around. PVs aren't even a challenge when I'm using a HV. I have to use a SV to make the fight more entertaining.

    Although I do think an SV would be a better mining vehicle than a HV is being able to mine in a HV is doable . I enjoy my CV mining ships, so that is an option I would want to keep. In some games and movies there are CV style ships that are built for mining only and I enough building them. Now what I would like to see is a Mining CV that has mining drones that you can send to mine other smaller Asteroids while your CV is mining some of the bigger asteroids

    Appropriate roles for their expected field of operations, logical effectiveness 'triad', and thought into what would be needed to bring it about. Bravo sir: +50.

    Another side note: Design tutorial is up to 3,413 words, 19,558 characters and is still rising. I'm almost finished the main text (I think ^^), hoping to do basic artwork and at least get it posted today, if not actually completed.


    Had some more shennanigans on the server too, eventually got back on when admin brought it back up and found I'd been raided. After some inspection I found they had broken in through the farm (Unarmored glass fail), then broken straight through the closest doors right into the turret ammo stockpile! Awkwards..

    The elevator shaft was also totally undefended so they just waltzed right in, popped a couple of doors (Unarmored again heh) and had full access to my supplies. I thought they got away with it all except the missed cargo and constructor supplies (And recently mined pile of Sathium ore :( ). Then, after I fixed all the doors & windows (Armored. ^) and did repairs, I did a turret upgrade. 2 Cannons obviously wasn't enough to deter unwanted visitors and only the external anti-personel guns were gone. 4 cannons,2 Missile and 2 minigun should keep those pesky raiders & salesmen at bay.

    The turrets got ammo again and immediately let rip. They kept going tho, I was wondering what they saw and went to the roof. A hill. Heading over to investigate led me to the wreckage of 'Fast ship' and a backpack with some of my loot (And the sathium! :D). Karma strikes again! They must have gotten caught mid-pillage by the server update or game update, and I made it back on first. Oh how I smiled.

    I wonder how hard it would be to add enemy HVs to the game. Having some heavily armed HVs patrolling around would certainly spice up my game. It might also encourage building HVs to counter them.

    It does seem like some players spend as little time as possible in a HV but that is just my personally opinion. I think the fact of the matter is, the DEVs seem to agree with your view of why a HV should have drill equipment and as long as that is the case I don't see it changing anytime soon if at all BUT I think what would fix all of this is. As some have already said more improvements to each ships weapons and combat roles are needed More specialized weapons . I think Bases CVs , SVs and HVs should all have specialized weapons for offense and defense. There needs to be extreme differences between a Base, CV, Sv and HV and right I don't think it's enough.

    Now that would change the game more than anything that has been added so far. Having enemy HVs would be fun

    A fast, capable HV is much fun to pilot. When I build an HV it's usually just for the pleasure of seeing the landscape fly by and jumping off of mountains. That's after I've used an SV to take out hostile POIs.
    Requiring a spawn pad and having the Multitool return less material hurt the HV by making it much less handy to spawn a miner and then reclaim and respawn as needed. Like others, I think that the capabilities of BA/SV/HV/CV are going to be tweaked when the feature sets for them are finished. As things are I can get through the game without an HV, I can't without an SV.

    It would help to balance the SV's advantage over POIs in PvE. A POI guarded by parts dispensers (Dronz) is one thing, attacking a POI guarded by a moving HV or two would be another indeed.

    The reason the devs would care is that the Initial settings will set the tone of the experience, PvP almost never is going to keep the initial settings due to the difference between fighting AI and fighting Other people. That is fine, the tone of PvP is set by the involved parties, the tone of PvE is set by what is possible in the world.

    Using myself as an example; Dealing with a POI I may decide to Rush it in an armored golf-cart to get in under the guns, or Dig under it and blow up the core from the bottom, I may even do it in the usual manner and load up in a High performance SV and shoot the tits off the thing. All of this matters on my Mood, what kind of music I might be into ATM, and or if the MUTHEFLUFFERS SHOT MY RIDE!... Ahem, Anyhow. Allowing tunneling in a PvP environment is Undesirable for most folk... And I get that. So there is one less option for me if 'Balance' is Hard coded , driving up in a golf-cart rush is suicide if there are more than 0 players defending the base and likely then too because of the usual tower configuration to gun platforms.
    All I ask is that people try Not to ruin the game for everyone in their desire to get the most out of it for Their play-style.

    Rambled a bit there. Sorry. As a final note, aside from its phenomenal mobility, the SV platform delivers More DPS to one block Faster than Any other class in the game. That is its current specialization. Doing GOBS of damage. Anyhoo just my neurons firing semi-randomly while near the keyboard.

    Today I started a new survival game, and found out that my favorite seed is still a good one.

    It sets off a pet peeve, (having to find and destroy the alien core before scrapping the Titan).
    But, it's good to have such a valuable source of resources so close to the starting base.

    Awhile back on one of my many breaks from building Nexus station I set about updating the pirate ship I'd made, the Yar's Folly. Using blueprint sorcery I converted the ship from an SV to a CV and set about updating it. Today I put the finishing touches on it.

    Uhh you can 'convert' a ship to another type without painstakingly duplicating it? Ah wish I'd realised that sooner... Should've googled. lol

    Yes indeedy!

    So it works like this.
    1. Start a new creative game. Under the option for Empty World select Yes. Remember the name of your savegame.
    2. Spawn the blueprint you want to convert.
    3. Place a starter block of the type you want to convert it to. Make sure to give yourself enough space so they don't overlap after the conversion.
    4. Exit all the way out of the game.
    5. Navigate to the savegame folder and find the Shared Folder. The path should look something like this:
    \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Empyrion - Galactic Survival\Saves\Games\YourSavedGame\Shared
    6. There will be a couple folders and some text files. Ignore the text files. Copy all the files from the folder of the blueprint you're converting to the other folder. So in my case I copied the contents of the SV_Player_3 folder into the CV_Player_4 folder. When it asks if you want to replace files select yes, replace files. And this is why I said to select Empty World. It makes finding the folders you want very easy. But if you end up having to dig through a bunch of folders the numbers appended to the folders correspond to the object's ID. Type DI and look at the object in game to find it for the stuff you're working on.
    7. Restart the game and load the save. What used to be a starter block is now a new ship/base/whatever. In my case the CV starter block was turned into a CV version of my pirate ship SV.
    8. It does not convert restricted blocks and devices so things like doors, devices, thrusters, etc that are SV/CV/HV only have to be removed and replaced with the correct items.

    Nice one m8, that is handy to add to my arsenal of building options. :D

    I have a report to make lads: My design guide is 'completed', it ended around at around 6,000 words and 35,000 characters. It covers all the things things that turn a ship from Shell to Complete, all the way through good and great, up to totally epic.

    I think doing that straight after stopping mid-way through designing something else might have finally tapped out my creative burst for a few days! ^^

    So....this happened.

    Two ships. One of them was supposed to be there(the one in the middle). The other one decided to show up out of the blue for no good reason when I loaded a saved game. It's mid section was missing but the front and back were there joined to the other ship. Weird bug. Cool outcome. If I can ever get the cut/copy/paste working I might just have to make this accidental mashup into a real ship.
