revisited my very old grinding station and finished it for server use, this build was just for fun no need to rate it but at least give it a look. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1343442703
will check it out, thanx for the suggestion! edit: yes, that's a good track texture too! if I get something other updated, I will change that too! edit2: ok, done ;-) now I question, should I change the Acceleration stats from main/lateral of 32/13 to 36/11 or leave it this way? I'm not sure what would be better on actual racing tracks...
Is there a way to make the text in a LCD much larger than the slider will allow? I'm building my racer thing and I'd like to use an LCD for the numbers but they appear fairly small at the max font size - 50 I thought I had seen pictures here on the forums of a craft using LCD's with a single letter taking up the full size of a 1x1 LCD, but I can't seem to find where it was now. For my craft nearly every block on the sides stretches textures weirdly, so using the symbol gun numbers doesn't work out very well. LCD's with a number the full size of a 1x1 LCD would look a lot better, and I could match it's color to whatever I end up going with. (will probably change the number since 13 is already sorta taken, was just what I had on it when I took the pics)
And my Hover Racer is completed! I'll have it on the workshop later today (still need to get photos taken) Also if you want to join in the Hover Racer Build Challenge be sure to stop by this Thread here: https://empyriononline.com/threads/zerog-challenge-build-01-hover-racer-base.36932/ Anyways screenie time! Also I have named this the Phantom-X, just in case I haven't already mentioned that lol.
That's where a little ASCII art comes into play. Try something like this: Code: ┐ ─┐ ║ ─╢ ┴ ─┘ At Size 50 it'll just about fill the screen. Code: ▌▀▀█ ▌──█ ▌▄▄█ also works, but the top blocks clip off the upper part of the screen. I've found that "feature" handy for some things (it's a neat effect), but in this case probably not what you want. Only downside to this approach is, box-drawing and block-shape unicode has a tendency to flicker where parts "overlap" - the kearning for the ingame font is wonky when it comes to this stuff.
I worked on my challenge entry. My pad is almost done. Which racer i should throw in... i have no clue. My three little ones are 90% complete. But as i mentioned "race tank" earlier i spawned in my medium battletank and started tweaking. It was already quick and nimble so i actually thought about cutting some weight and reduced devices a lot.... A tank in a race.... how crazy it could get. :-D
Thanks, that was very helpful. Didn't occur to me to try pasting in things from character map. Went with this: (changed to 12 since I noticed @Space Beagle already posted a racer with #13) Code: ╗ ══╗ ║ ╔═╝ ╩ ╚══
Race Tank sounds rad... but not really feasible in a "No Weapons Race". Maybe a Future HV Race will be able to allow Weapons & act like a sort of Mario Kart/Mad Mad mashup. I strongly suspect the possibility that Jenn did this on purpose hoping that Hilarity Ensues. Tank Representation for the HV Race! Though the Tank being unable to shoot stuff will still be awkward... Edit: Something fucked up while I was making the Post that dragged in parts of Posts I was quoting & stuck it where I NEVER told it to which fucked up my Hyper Link... & I couldn't figure out how to fix it so I was forced to Reconstruct a NEW version of the Post.
Hi all, just bought the game and checking out the vids on YouTube, normally play Space Engineers (have 6K+ hours) think maybe it's time to change,
Welcome to the fun! This such a wonderful game I am sure your going to love it! Also I have my Hover Racer uploaded onto the workshop now, here it is: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1344046224
I took the Midge onto the Omicron Speedway, and promptly plowed into the wall. I guess I have too much forward thrust and too little lateral thrust. I am trying different thruster configurations around the track, trying to get a configuration that is controllable with good performance.
#83, Jaguar, still undergoing some performance trials. Took a cue from @rucky and added lights - really liking the effect on the thrusters (though still no substitution for being able to actually color our thruster output, sadly). Can't seem to squeeze any more performance out of her at this point - seems to come down between swapping a pair of RCS for handling, or HV engines for lateral stability. Depends on whether there's more on- or off-road action I guess.
Man that is amazing and looks impossible with Empyrion's block selection. I am surprised something so sleek could come out of our current block selection
@michaelhartman89 Antish Prime has a new skyscraper... It's getting bigger and bigger... Awesome, check it out...
That's a LOT of triangles! One question......are those apartments furnished? Seriously, an amazing, epic job! Congratulations!
If you manage to get a thruster/rcs arrangement that gets you around that track, I tip my hat off to you. I have four different prototypes. My "bike" is the smallest of them, and I could drive the bike around the track without hardly hitting the wall. Now because of its small size it also had the best stopping and lateral thrust of my prototypes. I gave my other prototypes comparable thrust capabilities and I didn't smash into the walls as often. However, I still smashed into the walls a fair bit. Now my bike is listed as 3.5m wide, although functionally it is about 3m wide. All my other prototypes are wider than this. It is starting to look like the wider my racer, the more I smash into the walls on that small course. Makes me really hope that the ARL will be running a rally across the landscape, or at least something that better accommodates wider HVs. [edit] With a little more testing, I think for our bigger HVs, the stopping ability is key to those sharp turns. Of course we don't want to come to a complete stop, more of a glide through the turns, but it seems like the reverse thrust helps get through the turns by bleeding off some speed. Of course, I am still smashing into the walls myself, but not as much...
