Yeah, once she got wet feets, she don't like the arid climate! I had it also only once, while spawning the Scavanger Base in another game. As @Vermillion said set the color palette to "default 2" then it should have in the right paintjob. Nonetheless i updated the RC1 with an 18 field greenhouse now. Spawned it and seems to work fine. @Vermillion from the pictures it looks good with the yellow inside. Can't await your release Is a 7x5 hangar door big enough for it?
Did a lot more work on the Foundry POI. Added an antenna/radar tower. I might make it higher. Added in one of the core rooms. If the core is not located here, then there will be an alien loot container in this room instead: To get to this core location, players have to flip 2 hidden switches. I put some lines on the ground as clues to lead players to the switches, since I don't want the core to be a total secret: Added some lighting to the conveyor room: I think it will shape up to be a pretty cool and uniquely challenging POI! Better bring lots of purified water. Here's some more screenshots: Spoiler
I did not try to paint anything on your CV as that was not what had talked about but I try the Default 2 setting to see if it changes back
Ever since I made the Cylon Basestar I've been interested in exploring more saucer shaped craft. In the background is an older prototype of the Basestar. On the right is a version I made where I squished the two saucers together using copy/paste. I liked the result so much I blueprinted it but that's as far as I got. On the left you can see a couple smaller classic ufo type saucers. I'm still working on the one that's been textured and painted. Prolly make a starter CV out of it. It's really difficult trying to create such small CVs. You can see an unfinished saucer on the lower left. I was going to make a ring shape with a hollow center. I may yet finish it but it's abandoned for now. In the middle there are a couple different saucers. One is a mini version of a Cylon Basestar which I'm liking and will probably finish. The other is a single saucer that seems like it's going to work out nicely.
Here something, a Saucer-shaped Vessel, you might know ... http://orion.henny-van-veenendaal.nl/bilder.htm
Ok, sleepless night... created a "modular" Landing Pad... with a CV on Top for testing Mainly made of Concrete, 3 layers of Armored Concrete for the Foundations, and a few Hardened Steel Blocks to attach better Textures. Advanced Repair Pad mounted. Only things missing are a dozen Sentry Guns.
Ok. Finished the (BA) Landing Pad, Lvl. 20 because of the Adv. Repair Pad. If not installed its a Lvl. 3 or 5 I believe. 8 Sentry Guns under the Platform. Several Flares. Next planned Building a Heavy Weapons Factory. I might copy some of the work I have seen here... Two pictures of what I have built so far - besides of the CV
Well, i'm about to go sleep. So here's my latest construction, another heavy industrial vehicle: The FA-027 Refuge. It's a cheap CV intended for the sole purpose of hauling HVs and SVs to distant planets. It's the Lockdown's big brother. Also not complete. Will finish it tomorrow. It's all just flat yellow atm. Pulling a lever in the cockpit switches off all unnecessary CV systems, leaving only the rear thrusters. It more or less functions like a giant HV over desert and snow. Can carry 2 Lockdowns, maybe 3 internally... or like 10-12 smaller HVs. It can also fit 3 or so decent-sized SVs on the heliport on the roof.
I totally dig the 'Space Construction Vehicle Big Rig' look to it! Meh, imho the only good reason to raise it higher was if it needed the extra height to pick up Signals better... if it's already getting good Reception, I think it's fine as is.
I decided to go with the side method of accessing an autominer. For now, I am calling it the collector. Again, thank you to @zertali for the idea. I am certain you can make one more visually interesting.. It is a full mobile base, with 2 layers of steel between the outer wall and the core. Access ramp in the back, autominer access doors on the side. Retractable ramps in the front to provide additional protection for the glass, they can be retracted by either the control panel or a switch. I was going to have a retractable "drone hatch" in the roof but there is not enough space W/I the HV to spawn a drone. Not many external changes from the last screenshot, but let me know what you think about it.
Added a bit of a lounge to the Foundry, for guests and workers to relax in. Start of a control tower: Decided to open up the assembly line room to the outside, to make it more challenging. Gotta get through it quick before you burn alive from the 600+ Celsius temperatures and deadly radiation. Conveniently, showers are located just outside both ends of the assembly room. How nice of the Zirax. Of course there will be several secrets located in this room, for those who dare to withstand the heat long enough to find them. There might be a secret hidden somewhere in here, for those brave enough to go for it. You won't know unless you try! Just... Don't fall into the lava. Getting caught on fire is detrimental to one's health bar. Top down view of the whole POI so far. Plans are to expand to the north adding in the engineering/power generating section and a 2nd core location. And to expand vertically to add crew quarters, medical room, armory, and the 3rd core location. Then I get to texture, light, and decorate the whole thing, hook lights up to sensors to save performance, add spawners and loot containers, and then create the 3 variations of the POI that each have different locations for the core and secret rooms to keep players on their toes. The facility will be defended by a total of 4 Zirax turrets (probably ion) mounted on 4 separate defense towers.
Finished the Refuge today. It can fit 3 Lockdowns and 2 Hunters. Not that anyone would ever need to carry 3 heavy miners.
