    Felt like upgrading one of my SVs today. Since it ended up somewhat larger with a different shape it's now a new ship.
    The old version is the FA-030B Instigator and the new one is the FA-034A Intimidator.

    It just needs more texturing and a paintjob now. Which i'll do tomorrow. Might switch out the rockets too.

    Been there, I had one build where I had the basic hull fleshed out.
    Then deleted the save because it did not look like I had envisioned it.

    I see an SR-61 Blackbird there! :)

    As @Dee ,my wife, told me just now this looks to her like a monster from Galaxy Invaders.:D If someone has memories of this old Atari game...

    Okay, so the new guys base is surviving now. I have 2 sexy turrets on the entrance with a couple of Solar panels. The drones love to pop by for a visit from time to time and are super kind on a few fronts.

    • They don't come over the lake, yay for not swimming
    • They bring friends, 3 at a time
    • They bring gifts in the way of ammo, missiles, materials

    So I thought I would give you an inside view of the work in progress. I am making this by hand and no spawns or, at the moment, a Mining HV.....and its my first base. Please excuse the newbie and square structure as it is mainly just functional at this time. The plan is to build out above the entrance with glass windows and an deck for those lovely days by the lake. Upstairs will also become the Medical bay, bedrooms, bathroom and "War Room". The Valley on the side will become a landing bay for CV and SV's as the Drones come from the other side and I want them to be underground.....if possible. Although I might make a CV and get off the starter planet and THEN create the base and turn this one into a Space Port.

    The small blocks in A10 are amazing. They make detailing your ships so much easier. I can't wait to see what a lot of creators create with these new blocks.
    I was playing around with the interior of my SV today using these smaller blocks..

    Got a bunch done. As soon as I finish off engineering and mirror it to the other side of the hangar bays I can copy/paste the whole thing to the other three sides of the station.

    I just love the way this looks.

    Most everything is painted and textured now. I did change a few things. I extended the constructor bay all the way to the wall and about forty percent of it is built out of container extensions now. I got rid of the shipping containers at the end of the production line to open up the view from the floor and left a small area for staging manufactured goods coming off the line. I also redesigned the crane.

    Thanks!! . You know what's funny? I didn't think think about the windows until after I started walking around inside of it. If you were ever in a dog fight you wouldn't know what's shooting at you, you would only hear sounds. haha . I'm going to add some more windows after I finish with the interior.

    I could really use a couple hundred new textures and some droid deco npcs.


    Edit: I defaulted to using the xy plane out of habit when I should have been using the yz plane for building the hangars/engineering. Now I've made more work for myself. :oops:

    I think I can salvage this without too much more work though.

    The lightning is kick ass! If you don't mind, play with the light cones, range and intensity of your lights. This way you can create bright and dark areas to direct the player view to areas of interrest or to set a mood. Other than that i love your new production line!

    Finished the FA-034A Intimidator today.
    It's currently my favourite SV. Mainly because it's entirely my design and wasn't inspired by some other ship from somewhere else... sort of. This is at least the 3rd generation of this ship; the first generation was built in SE years ago and looks considerably different from this latest iteration.
    No, it is not an SR-61.

    The old Instigator's (Gen-2) thrusters were closer to the door so the cover for the door was a single plate and you got very warm entering and exiting the ship.

    Forward compartment. 2 beds, 4 passenger seats, 2 fridges, armor locker, SV constructor, O2 station, all the amenities.

    Reverse view from the cockpit.
    2 switches lets you switch the lighting modes internally and externally; 1 switch deactivates VTOL mode turning the Intimidator into a fuel efficient space-plane (Not advised for combat, but it is fun).

    For my plans, functionally, the plain box works great. For something that I may enjoy using, the box with shape will suit me better. Now to go back and adjust the bases I was planning to incorporate the box as a module. The new "box" is 2 meters narrower and several meters longer.

    Note: the containers on both old/new boxes are the same and accounts for about 6000 CPU alone, and over 800k SU. Too bad that using shapes for CE reduces their SU capacity but not their CPU cost.

    Along with all the other Forge Aerospace designs from the FA-005 Hunter all the way to the FA-034.

    Been spending my free time working on getting my little yacht ready for the season. She’s an antique, wooden motor yacht and requires a lot of prep, plus was in need of some repairs, so I’ve not had much time to do much of anything, except some planning for a new base design.

    I also happened on an oddity - the solar array on my current base has decided that it will no longer charge, despite showing full bars. Probably a bug of some sort, but very bothersome. Will have to figure it out later though.
