I have once again worked on my long-term project and adapted it to the Alpha 11. After removing many engines I now have a CPU of 9.702.262 and an efficiency level of 100%. The ship is not as agile as before, but I completely do without RCS. I didn't want to remove weapons, so the RCS had to go. The hydroponics were completely rebuilt and the ship finally has a reactor room. Hydroponics: Reactor Room: The reactor room got its very special lighting, can be seen in the spoiler. Spoiler: Reactor Room in operation
My Goodness! This is a fantastic looking Engine/Core Room. Great Ideas combined into a real looking Place!
Best I can think of atm is "Crimson Turf". Also... I took a look at Sky Break on Steam, then tried to use the Steam Link to check out its Home Site & Firefox had to save my ass from Malicious Threat... I seriously recommend everyone to avoid the Sky Break Homesite... (Steam, What the Hell Hero!!?)
Bravo. Well done. Always loved the Firespray. Let's see tonight I... Became severely nauseous on the Office US Server, as a terrible bug plagued us - any vessel that was landed and powered off would begin to bounce, flip, and roll uncontrollably, falling through the world, reappearing elsewhere, powered on or off. It has been dubbed the "Fish Out of Water Bug", due to the behavior of vehicles affected. I did get a warp SV build and ready to get me off the starter planet though... if I could only fly it....
More work on my... let's just call it a mod, today. Hopefully it'll be done by the end of tomorrow. Then I need to test it several times. I'm onto the last stretch. All that's left is (realistic) block mass, storage volume, thruster strength, CPU values and turret/weapon stats. I've done all the crafting recipes, all the mass/volume of items, POI loot, AI Loot, AI stats, etc... I had an initial test run with adjusting weapon effectiveness on the first day (things ended up too OP) that was fun. Took a strong area-defense HV against a drone base. It might've been able to take down the shield if the stupid turrets would prioritize turrets over the troop transporter spawner on the roof. 2 Rocket Turrets and 1 Artillery Turret.
Seems there was yet another update today. I'm having frustration: https://empyriononline.com/threads/bogus-verifying-game-cache-seems-to-have-fixed-it.91759/
This further highlights why HVs could really use more Manual Fire Weapon selection... If we could do more of our own dirty work ourselves, it'd be easier to be able to await Turret Fixes...
Is there a good way to prevent the game from updating? I'm not seeing a clear "Do Not Update" option in the games Steam/Properties/Updates pane. I've been having issues with vehicles glitching into the landscape with playlines started in previous versions using the Project Eden scenario.
Me to had today a lot of problems with making the droppod for my sv it always glitched trugh the ground when i enter the cockpit , but thanks to my endless boredom i have finished some more ship's with upgrading to A11 , still with the knowledge that i never will use them .
Today I wrestled with uncontrollable vehicles for a few minutes before giving it up as a lost cause. This is exactly what I did yesterday too. Time to leave Empyrion to people with more patience than me until the diabolical flight model (more like fight model, am I right?) is sorted out. Sadly it's a case of breaking something that didn't need fixing, as far as I can tell. Oh well, time to try something else for a while. Maybe Space Engineers has improved?
Nope, done that repeatedly. Also verified files, reinstalled, and the various other ideas everyone's had. And I can't see much point in building anything when I can't test them because they're uncontrollable... Thanks for the suggeston though. Let's face it, after over 4,400 hours it's probably a good plan to have a break anyway - I'm dreaming about this game even when I'm not playing it!
SV Formica took shape... after some health issues from which I suffered which I had to solve first. It is a T2 HV Carrier with an almost 12k CC and some normal Containers together with the ability to carry the HV. As soon as I establish my Space Dock in Orbit I will also try to finish the Hull of the HV as well as the SV - it misses its bottom Texture ans several blocks.
Damn dude, 4,400 is DEDICATION! My account says ~550 but I think that is actually around ~1000 maybe ~1300 cause I had it installed on a different HD before. I too am frustrated by the current ship bug and its terrible timing (meaning I WANT to continue on with my Survival undertakings). However, I've been fiddling a bit in a Creative World which I set up to try to get all my old Constructs organized. Having played the game on and off for ~3 years now, I've got a LOT to sort out. Six pages of screen shots to capture all my personal BPs . . . https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198071309618/screenshots/?appid=383120
I finished working on my greatest project so far - SE54-Starhopper https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1941126360
That "Fish Out of Water" bug seems to have been fixed in latest Exp branch! Back to Renexi to capitalize on "Honored" status with both Zirax and Polaris and continue exploring @ravien_ff wonferful Project Eden creation!
Here's to hoping! I managed to escape my starter world last night and throw myself together a self-powered refrigerator and turn off my SV. We'll see what tonight brings.
