If anyone has a joystick/throttle working properly please let me know. I have been trying to get my x55 to behave like it does in Elite/Star citizen but I just don’t have the options in game to get there. Immersion in any game is increased 10x fold when the right peripherals work correctly. It would be a huge boost to the game if they were supported natively without me having to try and rig the x55 software to work with it.
More control options may be done at a future date but as of now this control option isn't really supported.
What's sad to me is that it used to work. Now, after selecting my joystick, there are no pitch/yaw options in the list.
I've actually managed to get my setup with the assistance of some extra controller software. The throttle already supports analogue input axis as a control feature. All you guys would need to do just to make it at least doable is to enable analogue support for the roll left/right controls (right now they're strictly on/off using keyboard switch) so then they could be mapped to a control axis and not feel wonky. Later down the road tweak an add in some more HOTAS specific functionality, that'd be great, but I'd be happy right now if I just had a basic analogue axis for all the movements. That would at least make it doable with some special tweaking on our end. lol
With much respect and love to you dear devs, you're missing out on a huge group of enthusiastic players because of this. The Flight Sim people are fanatics, they spend hundreds on their rigs, make videos, share techniques and ideas, pictures, build their own cockpits (real ones not in game), etc. Look at a game like Elite, it's bloody boring! But the flight mechanics are so good they keep people coming back. Even I am guilty of starting it up from time to time just to have a little fly around. It is every flight enthusiast's dream to be able to fly their own designed plane or spaceship, but at the moment in EGS it just feels like a cartoon.... EGS+Elite mechanics = Kerbal space program on steroids!
There is improvements coming soon for controller support but do not get your hopes up for that update improving anything for 'HOTAS' that kind of support can possibly come after when there is more time for it.
According to the 'roadmap' for 2021... Closer? No. On the To Do List - yes but no high Prio (my guess).
