Mode: Survival Mode: Singleplayer Reproducibility: Always Severity: Minor Type: Global Summary: Hud names remain after device is salvaged or destroyed. Description: When you have a base or ship with core, you can go to control panel and set them to show in HUD. It adds a text to the 3D world and also map+minimap. It can be used for example to locate thrusters of a submerged ship wreck. Temporary fix is to quit back to menu and reload the save. I don't know what happens with integrity of the save file, but at least the names are gone. Steps to Reproduce: Make a new world and create a base (or use base blueprint). Mark some devices in hud and salvage them with multitool. Or spawn also a SV and destroy those devices with weapons. Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links:
Thanks this is known. What you can do is open the map & check your markers list & manually remove them or on the next reload of the save game they should be gone.
Mode: Creative/Survival/Freedom mode Mode: Singleplayer Reproducibility: Always Severity: Trivial Type: Show on HUD function Summary: Show on HUD is active after device disappearance Description: "Show on HUD" is still active after device removal or destruction Steps to Reproduce: Activate "Show on HUD" function on device, then remove or destroy it - marker is still shown - I believe it should disappear as well...
Mode: tested in Creative, but surely in Survival, Freedom mode too Mode: Singleplayer, SERVER NAME: - SEED-ID: - If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: No Reproducibility: Always Severity: Trivial or Minor Type: Building mode Summary: Ship part still displayed on HUD after beeing deleted Description: Steps to Reproduce: Let's say we want to modify a ship for core limitation. I want to remove a costly CPU part that I can spare. Select any element in the P menu (ex gyroscope). Activate "show on HUD" to see exactly where the designer built the part I want to remove. Get there using the highlited part on the HUD. then with the building tool disassemble or remove the shown part : The part still appears on HUD if you don't turn off "show on hud" before deleting. It is impossible to get rid off this ghost part if you don't cancel the suppression.
This is the same for when you are dismantling a POI. The markers will go away if you re-log in. (The classic 'switch is off, then back on again' solution) Yes, they should be removed once the item has been removed though.
i showed a thruster on the HUD. Then i removed the part and the waypoint on the HUD is still showing . I tried to remove the waypoint on the map, but it doesnt work.

Right click on the flag with the name of the item you chose. Click Remove. Nothing happens. Could not find a way to remove the text of the item from the HUD. Would love to see this fixed. In the meantime if you place a device back in that spot you can toggle the HUD label back off, then remove it. Unfortunately if you move the ship I'm not sure you can get rid of it without reloading the game.
Yeah, this is around since ages...but I can only say its because of the errors a Player provide that the game should fix it. It is the Player who sets a Waypoint. Not the Game. So, if marked it stays. Until you restart the game and Clear Cache.
Germanicus - an interesting point of view! I would agree, except I wouldn't have called it a waypoint. In the list of devices, the player asks the game to show an item on the HUD. So naturally when the item disappears, one would expect the game to also remove the item from the HUD (since it can no longer show the item as it doesn't exist).
In my previous Answers to Postings of Players who were 'complaining' about this Marker (switched ON by themselves in the Control Panel) I was a bit more aggressive towards them and their ... laziness... not to switch it OFF after finding the Device on the Vessel/Building. It is this expectancy that a self (activated) Marker shall be removed by the Game when no longer Valid ... But who knows. Eventually the Devs find a way to handle those set Markers in way that all are happy with it. We'll see.
Simple solution: The game offers to change and delete ALL markers of a player - so you could also remove the many markers that have accumulated over time in the galaxy and gradually fill the screen with black bars.
