For more information see here Bug Report Template Build: 1.14.2 Game environment: Multiplayer Platform: Steam DLC Installed: Yes SEED-ID: 545777 If applicable: SERVER NAME: Broken Eden If applicable:: Are you using any unofficial mods or custom maps ?: Reforged Eden 2 Reproducibility: Sometimes Severity: Urgent Summary: Players reported getting stuck in dark field on Crystal Desert type planets Description: , upon inspection it appears the planet has been corrupted and taken over by the dark faction, there are DF spires everywhere and I have the dark field icon on my HUD. Dark Faction is disabled on this save game! Of course some players including myself have the DLC but this is strictly a Reforged Eden 2 save game. The problems seem to be isolated to Crystal Desert type planets. Steps to Reproduce: 1) Launch a multiplayer server running Reforged Eden 2 2) Find a Crystal Desert type planet 3) Wait for a while until the planet corrupts and spires start appearing Screenshots attached. I also note that when I used Godmode and flew into some of the spires they would transform back into a square rock as captured in one of the screenshots attached. Some spires had no substance, no info on DI or a multitool when up close, appearing as only a visual thing. I have for the time being warned all players to avoid crystal desert type planets.
Some more info from my end: Happens on multiple servers. Even players who don't own the DLC at all will see the Dark Faction icon on the galaxy and star system map. May also happen in single player. Reforged Eden 2 contains no content whatsoever from the Dark Faction DLC. I don't even own it, so I have not added anything from it. Just to reiterate, there's absolutely zero content from the DLC contained within Reforged Eden 2's files. No bundles, no POIs, no blocks or items, no references in playfield files, nothing. The only planet type that this effects is the Crystal Desert (EdenDesertCrystal_V2), a custom planet made by me based on the vanilla Desert playfield. I will attach the playfield files here in case that helps. I cannot think of any reason why this planet type, and only this planet type, has this issue on servers. If there is something in the playfield files that triggers this please let me know what it is so I can change it, but I just can't think of anything. I can't think of anything unique about this planet type that isn't found on other planets in RE2 as well. Video of the bug from Ente taken from this report on the RE2 GitHub: https://github.com/RavienGaming/Reforged-Eden-2/issues/498
Is there anything I can change in that playfield to prevent this? I mean, I assume there has to be something unique in that playfield's config that would trigger this that I could remove otherwise it would happen with other planet types as well I would think.
On your - Name: Canyon Biome You are using stamps what I guess are DF Stamps StampForcesBiome: true StampForcesBiomeType: OverlapAll # StampTries: 250 StampTries: 175 Stamps: - Canyon_80m_Diagonal, 0.4 - Canyon_80m_Connect, 0.4 - Canyon_80m_Narrow, 0.4 - Canyon_80m_Bend, 0.4 - Rift_Fissure, 0.2 when I remove this whole entry, no issue Specially when I simply remove those - Canyon_80m_Diagonal, 0.4 - Canyon_80m_Connect, 0.4 - Canyon_80m_Narrow, 0.4 - Canyon_80m_Bend, 0.4 it stopped triggering, but those are used on our own planets outside the DF aswell... Ive asked questions internally if this is actually a game bug, or a case of using DF assets / settings
So after talking internally I got some pointers to check out and I found its one of your POIs that triggers it You named one of your POIs Crystal Pillar, Pillar is from the DF, rename it and your problem should be solved - GroupName: RE2_CrystalsArchGold Faction: None Biome: [ Canyon ] CountMinMax: [ 60, 75 ] # IsScalingCount: True DroneProb: 0 DronesMinMax: [ 1, 1 ] ReserveCount: 0 TroopTransport: False Properties: - Key: MapDistance Value: 0 - Key: HudDistance Value: 0 - Key: SI Value: Off - Key: RegenAfter Value: 4320 This is not a game bug
Thanks for taking the time to look into this. Just to be sure I understand, is the problem that it contains the word "Pillar", or that it's called "Crystal Pillar"? Want to make sure I know what name(s) need to be avoided for POI spawns.
Thanks. Hotfixed RE2 to change the blueprint name to Crystal Column. Will need to remember to avoid using the word Pillar in any POI spawn names (though it sounds like everyone will, even for vanilla POIs).
