Hi, I'm on the beta branch, have been for a while. Fired up Steam today - first time in a couple of days - and got an Empyrion update - 1.5MB. I go in-game and it's showing as version 1.15 release. Ok, so the Beta has gone Live? I didn't see any notification on this. As v1.15 is now showing as "Release" in the game main menu, under Release Notes, well, I assumed that meant it'd been released. A reasonable conclusion. As a result, I went back to the regular branch. Doing this "updated" my game to v1.14. V1.15 is NOT released. If the game had said v1.15 RC (release candidate) I'd have known to remain on the Beta branch as it's not released yet. So, not sure what's happened here. Anyway, this caused some confusion. Luckily it takes me but moments to download the 4.3GB update (8.6GB in total as I went back to the Beta branch of course). However, once upon a time, this would have taken a substantial amount of time for me. Work it out, I was on 2mbps down ADSL... scary... I feel for others that might still be locked to such low speeds.
It's still on the EXP branch only for now & will aim to release next week & whenever we update the public branch you will see a patch note about it at the top of the forum https://empyriononline.com/forums/#news.3 Or via steam > Empyrion > News https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/383120 The notes say "Release" as of a few days ago on the main menu because I pre-prepraed them to say that before we delayed the release until next week. Next time just check the links above for new posts when they are done.
