Ok guys, this my new ship may be a bit controversial, it´s probably the first “space caravan” in Empyrion after all and armed to the teeth no less, so take it as a suggestion of what can be done…. So it’s basically a moving base, a SV that comes equipped with all the amenities you can find in a CV like large constructors, food processors, gravity generator, farming plots and a medic station, all topped off with turrets for defense. Well, on planet surfaces yes a bit, cause of the continuous running thrusters bug, but on space is rather cheap, especially when comparing to a CV or a station running costs… As for design I didn’t gave much thought about this one no, more to make a points actually as this may not be possible in a near future…

Another feeble but original try at a fighter. This one is the GrassHopper Mk 1 . Its a long range combat scout. It hasnt got many amenities as its designed to be fast, hit and run ship. comes with 2 fuel tanks for endurance in the field, 1 RCS, 1 generator, 1 cargo box. 6 directional thrusters; 1 for each direction except for the bottom which has 2 for better lift especially on hi G planets like Aestus(lava planet). Its armed with 2 rocket launchers which i have found over many playthroughs to be enough to take out any drone or turret you may come across on any planet. Space drones are to be avoided however as they arent easy to lead with rocket launchers( but unless you wanna try taking out the research station or something its easier to sneak into the asteroid field for sathium ore than to fight).
I'm building a bigger one to test exactly that, but my guess is currently it's still not possible, in fact docking to a CV and moving it still carries it's risks...
Ok, I just had to have a look at and play with this one, it's major cool. Took me a bit to figure out why some things were a lot smaller than usual, then I figured out the scaling factor between BS block size and SV block size. Now a large constructor takes up less space than a small one, lol. Even with 20 large fuel tanks flight time on planet is only 16 min, now that is a gas guzzler if I ever saw one. Nice job on the build, just no idea what to do with it yet.
@RobDog, @Lealu, @Bakkur Thanks guys, and yes, a few bugs need to be addressed before this can be a viable option, mainly the continuously running thrusters bug, and the fuel consumption needs an overall as well, but it may as well be my obsession for huge thrust output….. If you guys take half of the thrusters out it will probably run as good as it does now…. About thrusters, you guys want to know something very interesting I found out? If you install a CV thruster in a SV, it will be reduced due to scale but the thrust output will remain the same… Shame there’s a speed limit because that would make a hell of a racing rip-off… Ho and yes consumption is also the same as a CV…..

This has probably been done before, but I was so pleased with the results that I thought I would share an unoriginal ship! I humbly present the Nox Ventus! (Night Wind!). Some key features are: -All black can be re-painted to fit your style. -Compact design but not at the cost of options! Constructor on board! -10 fuel tanks! Accessible via the roof -4 reactors, 6-7 RCAs. Has GREAT stop and go and turn. -Iconic 4 Strike Foil blasters! -Features 2 passenger storage! Bring a couple friends! ...mostly because you cant leave them behind! -Secret cargo storage under the front landing leg! Skim off the top of drone kills with confidence! -Regular old thrusters, so every engine has umph! -Standard Fridge and Cargo and Oxygen tank/station. -Passenger friendly standing lip for easy Jetpack boarding! -Very attractive Radar Dish on the belly of the beast! Never miss a transmission. -Full up on fuel nets you about 90 minutes of serious activity in atmo, and 1400+ minutes at idle. -Safety friendly enviro-lights on the hull of the ship. The Nox Ventus is a great every day fighter. Nothing too sophisticated here. Long range recon? Check! That dinosaur eyeing your space fries? Check! Need to make a fast getaway? Zig zag till they don't know what hit them and your lost yourself! The exposed fuel tanks could prompt someone to wanna cover the 3 center pieces. I choose not to cover it for looks. This turned out better than I had thought it would and its the fastest turn radius, stop-on-a-dime kinda ship ive experience yet (allbeit thoes 'experiences' are extensive.
