    CONFLICT ARMS
    (Version 02)
(Latest version for 9.3.1 at bottom post)
    Empyrion's first FPS MMO!

    desc.jpg

    Hello and welcome!
I will be continually refining all the information here that will be needed to enjoy this unique multiplayer FPS MMO scenario for Empyrion! I'm calling it a modification since the changes are somewhat significant compared to Empyrion's ordinary gameplay.
(This is intended for multiplayer but I suppose if you can play it COOP/LAN/etc)
    Updated for Empyrion Version 8

    Features:
    • Two sides at conflict on one planet with traditional building and teching turned off.
    • Since it is multiplayer-only concept it requires other players. You can still play solo.
    • You can PVE and gather resources/harvestables to sell to traders to gain currency to buy gear and goods. You can use your resources and gained experience to unlock new weapons to build.
    • The requirements and stats have increase (For example, T2 is now strong and smooth, not clunky and unlocks at lvl25 -- the whole tech tree has been refined to be more of a long-term weapon unlock system and each weapon has their own tech tree. So the higher weapons are rewards for leveling and levels will mean something on the battlefield), such as full auto T2 shotgun (really fun!) and full auto Laser Pistol T2! Since points aren't wasted on unlocking building trees, the point requirement for weapons has gone up significantly but it should be easily affordable. You might have to pick and choose which weapons you truly want to make yourself, but you can obtain all of them from the trader or market!
    • The sides are at odds and firefights/conflicts will arise over the resources. Both sides have subtle yet important differences. They control different resources and thus have different technology, methods and markets. You may use this to your advantage or be disadvantaged by it. There are economies on each side.
    • This is essentially the simulated, living, breathing world of Empyrion except in an FPS setting, without tight boundary like today's standard FPS. This is more akin to older Delta Force FPS games where the maps were huge and thus afforded you plenty of strategy and hiding spots or hills to firefight on.
    • There are no vessels, only motorcycle which you must buy or build yourself. No worrying about building an impenetrable base and having defend/stock it, the bases are there for you already (they will refresh, too, so any damage done is fixed and makes the game interesting -- if the other side attacks your base they can do real damage, like with explosives, but no multitool!).
    • No worrying about AI drones/transports/aliens/etc (Yay no aliens! Only as traders/npc, haha)). Just creatures, the enemy faction and your survival.
    • You will use those resources you'd ordinarily stuff into a T2 fridge and forget, to truly survive/prosper/prepare and hopefully outsmart your opponents! You will need to gather to buy your bike kit from traders or build it, to buy/build/tech for weapons and buy food, unless you hunt.
    • Items like meat have thus gained a hefty boost in HP and other beneficial affects.
    • One side uses the chemical items and the other side uses the natural alternatives (what the chemical items in the game are based on, essentially).
    • The forests are dense with plenty of items to keep you alive and kicking in a firefight, without buying any thing. The terrain looks like it will make for some interesting combat, only limited by the drawing distance of players, weapons and map!
A different flavor of Multiplayer Empyrion, I hope you enjoy. I will be hosting a server but it is only on my home PC and I would love a dedicated server (possibly looking to rent a good one) to host this scenario.

    Info:

    STAR Corp

    STARCorp.png
The "Neutral Third Party" that is holding the "Event". They provide the majority of the equipment including the traders and the teleport hubs for delivery of volunteer clone soldiers. We'll leave you to decide how you feel about this anonymous entity as not much is provided to the public other than the arms with which they wage war against each other. Most say nothing as this single entity encompasses the entire system and provides every thing from the water in your bottle to the equipment you wear and the bed you sleep in. They allow trading at their Starbase, free of cost! However, be advised, no violence is tolerated at STARCorp!

    Planet Ceskoyruta (ses-koi-root-a)
    p.png
A strange world of low-lying temperate jungles with desert mountaintops.

    Freemen of Ceskoyruta
    (New Age Legion)

    NAL.png
New Age Legion may be surrounded by danger, but that may also be their means of protection/deterrent, as well. New Age Legion defends all that is natural, like the Talon Guardians that roam these lands; However, unlike the Talon Guardians, they prefer Meat and the use of Sniper technology. NAL has control of Magnesium and Pentaxid. Preferring the KISS methodology, they prefer Solar Power and thus do not use the PWI-controlled Promethium fuel which has been the main source of conflict.

    Industrialists of Scerth
    Pearwise Industries

    PWI.png
No data is provided for Scerth. The Industrialists have adopted Ceskoyruta as their own and have occupied it for millennia under the guise of the profiteering group "Pearwise Industries". Pearwise Industries has utilized chemistry and modifying the foundations of life to suit their needs to survive. They have no concern for the detrimental impacts of their actions on they native inhabitants, which is why they generally live in barren desert wastelands devoid of life. This makes resources hard to come by, generally all but stripped away. They always know where the Promethium is to keep their generators humming, though. The Industrialists prefer vegetables and Heavy Weapons such as Rocket or Lasers. They control Promethium, Plastic, and Pearthing -- which is their Symbol and they feel strongly of them. Disappoint a PWI? No Fruit Pie for you!

More to come! Server name when hosted:

Thanks for looking and feel free to share positive thoughts!

*A small note about the terrain in the bases from a fresh run of this scenario. Since I am hosting this live I just clean it up manually. Also, no way to pre-set factions, so base factions must be set by the first two players who start and take lead and thus bases are set to public at first run. Origins are set via the player-start, so conflict can still happen but the bases need a leader to make the faction and take over on the first run.

Actual first rough draft (with some mistakes!) drawn around 4/4/18?:

So is this all on one planet or is there still a solar system to explore ?

Hm. This looks like an interesting idea.
Looking forward to seeing where you go with it /watching

Consider toying with PDA quests aswell, as with any MMO ;)

This is on one planet but I have thought of the idea of maybe having conflicts start to span across the galaxy and maybe planets being occupied, but that would be much further down the chain after it has a player base. I'd like to get a dedicated server up so that it is always up and there, a living world. I decided to keep it on one world so that players would have to interact with each other, rather than being separated without a way to get to each other (other than teleport, I suppose). My original idea was for random base spawning (using the near, far tags) but I found this map seed and placed the bases and kept it. It will work well because the bases are more than 1km apart and that is about the average size of a Delta Force battlefield.

I have a PDA quest setup when you first join, actually. I will definitely be setting more of those up, feel free to suggest some MMO-esque missions to help me out!

Thanks for both of your thoughts and comments! Much appreciated. I enjoy making it and will enjoy maintaining it. The next patch will probably be Version 2 and I will keep Version 1 for the game version we have now.

Yeah! Me too. So, at the very least you know it has good motivation/roots. :)
I loved DF2, LW and TFD the most but BHD/+Sabre/joint ops/etc are all good.
Been waiting forever for Angel falls, doesn't look like it will happen so I always like to recreate DF stuff.
