Mode: Survival SEED-ID: 0 Reproducibility: Always Severity: Major Summary: Unable to launch game after latest public release. Game has been reinstalled, removing all content folders. EAC is disabled. Seems to be hitting the following error on launch : Win10 x64 fully patched
I presume you have already tried to go through the trouble shooting ? https://empyriononline.com/threads/...own-issues-troubleshooting.47082/#post-296904 Can you try doing this for a completely fresh installation ? Completely uninstall Empyrion & then reinstall after doing the following steps Right click on Empyrion in your steam library > Properties > Local files > Browse local files > Saves Make a backup copy of any saves & blueprints you have in another folder away from steam or place them on another drive. Also if you have any custom scenarios, playfields or configs etc you will want to back them up & also move them away from from the root Empyrion installation folder which are all found in the "Contents" folder. Select Empyrion in your steam library & select the uninstall option & when that is completed delete the "Empyrion - Galactic Survival" folder in your Steam\steamapps\common folder Delete these folders called "Eleon Game Studios" in these locations if they are found there: C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\Local\Temp\Eleon Game Studios C:\Users\<YourUserName>\AppData\LocalLow\Eleon Game Studios Open regedit in windows & navigate to here & delete the entry "Empyrion - Galactic Survival": Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Eleon Game Studios Restart your PC Reinstall Empyrion in your steam library select Empyrion & select install & wait for it to finish downloading. When the download is complete: Right click on Empyrion in your steam library > Properties > Local files > Browse local files & place your saves, blueprints, custom scenarios etc back.
Ive tried all of those with the exception of 3. Which I can do tomorrow. As for logs Ive not found any but will take another look.
Completed a reinstall as per instructions @Pantera and issue remains. No crash logs I can find either. Its been suggested in a few places that unticking "full screen optimisations" on the exe file and run as administrator can help. Neither of these have worked. I found an old thread here: https://empyriononline.com/threads/running-the-game-with-mono-2-0-bdwgc-dll-unity-crash.60782/ Which also suggested swapping in files from an older version of the Mono framework files - no change there either. Now, back at a vanilla install. I did find this crash report file.... not sure if this provides any insight as seems to be just an extension of the data in event viewer..
Can you try using the system file checker https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb...er-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system Also consider resetting your OS for Windows 10 search for "Reset your PC" & click on it in the link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/12415/windows-10-recovery-options Make sure to backup anything important before hand to a external drive.
On the Unity Forum was an entry about that mono-2.0-bdwgc.dll Unity pointed out that it wasn't the dll that cause the crash... but read here -> https://forum.unity.com/threads/mon...rash-for-some-users-cannot-use-il2cpp.625381/ And before resetting your PC you may even try to install the latest version of the mono-2.0-bdwgc.dll (Resetting should be the last option) https://mono-2-0-bdwgc-dll.andplusorminus.com/
@Pantera @Germanicus Back in business on v: I had to uninstall KB4560960 which I believe was a cumulative security patch
Correct. There are other known issues with that patch for printer drivers and some other stuff. Clearly it must have something that interferes with Empyrion loading in Mono One point to note is that since thats a cumulative patch, firstly others may get the same issue, but likely it will re-occur at next months patching date
