Hi, we have an issue sine the v1.4.3 patch from today. We are using a core box mechanic based on explosive blocks that are triggered by a switch requiring a token. This is part of our ship trading feature. I increased the blast radius of self destroying blocks by 1 to blow a core that is attached to them. This decores a vessel, so the player can add his own core to occupy the ship. The core itself is actually still taking damage, but doesnt get removed. It stays with a negative amount of hitpoints until picked up or damaged by another source. Same mechanic still works all fine with CV cores. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2419578362
Hi please leave you character standing next to a fresh untouched copy of this vessel & supply a copy of the save & the custom scenario (if it uses one) or the modfied configs files it uses.
Sure. Fresh creative save (same issue) Lined up a few ships with our core box as example. Configs are included
Are you sure these configs work for you ? I ask because when I try to load in with this save with all of them placed in the config folder there are multiple errors being shown from them.
They run pretty well. Item config is a bit older and just updated here and there, block config is fresh out of the egg. We actually have a public server running with those configs. (Empyrion At War) Still under development, but you showed pretty well that early access can help. However, i wouldn't deny hints to improve what is going wrong in there
But probably more important for you: - until yesterday everything had been fine about destroying the cores. - copy of the "core box" on a cv blows still perfectly fine - reproducing this in a local game worked 100% I can grap a default config and just prepare it for a core box and test again.
Ok, testing everything with default config had the same result. However another test with custom configs and explosive blocks-radius worked fine. Since the self destroying block are probably not made to blow something else, i guess we found something deeply hidden. I will create a duplicate of the radius destroying blocks with a reduced blast radius and use them for the core boxes instead. Thx for your help, i hope detecting this was a little bit usefull for you too.
Yes please use the radius ones for this setup. Yes we'll look at it thanks for making us aware of this.
I can say in MP this happens occasionally as well. We have a specific mechanism for ship ownership which relies on exploding blocks. In some cases these blocks either do not explode, or they explode and have inconsistent damage which doesn't destroy a core (the explosive block is adjacent to the core).
