Fixed Repair Bay No-longer Viable in Multi-player [8151]

    Summary: CV/SV/HVs on repair pads can move at random negating any repair progress

    Description:

    Steps to Reproduce:
    1) Put a CV/SV/HV on repair pad and start the repair. (must have at least an hour repair time or more.
    2) Sit at base and and simply do chores around the base. Pick crops make ammo etc.
    3) Check the repair pad every 15 min or so. Never go out of render of the base.
    4) Wait for the jankiness.

    Additional notes. Server must have at least 2 people on it at all times during testing. Preferably one moves around elsewhere on the playfield.

    Agreed, this is also an issue with several other things. The repair bay should be able to calculate the time from start to "now" and compensate for unload of playfield or FOV load.

    You mean when on a planet right? I've found in the past that leaving and re-entering the playfield, or moving 2km away then moving back has the effect, especially if you dug your base underground and it unloads your changes to the terrain and slowly reloads everything as you return. I haven't noticed this one in a while though, but then again I haven't had repair pads on planet bases lately either.

    I mean just haveing it calculate it via server time would work. Or for SP games The Host PCs clock.

    Addition notes that causes and related issues.

    Repair bay can eat resources and have repair timer reset if interrupted by following causes. Playfield unloads for any reason, repair field is entered, or power is interrupted.

    Why is this bad? In SP games you can simply sleep in a bed until repair is done. Simple and effective. On Mulitplayer servers this single way of negating the issue in not available. Players have to babysit ships until they are repaired or be gouged for credits at station serveices that often times they may not have. (kinda insult to injury?) Either way. Daily server starts, loss of connection to server are commonplace now.

    Please update and find a fix ASAP.

    Before step 1 was there any playfield changes done with the vessel that has the described issue ?

    Not sure what you mean by playfield changes. Tested before the report on a stock default server setup for this issue. No scenario. Blasted the CV "G.E.I. Temptress" with a debug gun until the repair timer was above an hour.

    These issues are global. Any game seed, No scenario, any scenario etc. Any server I have played on or hosted for the past year.

    I was meaning moving between playfields for example from the planet to space & back to the planet.

    For the repair to work on MP you cannot leave the playfield, but other people in the faction can come into to the playfield and leave sometimes causing the repair pad to just randomly stop and reset or the CV to jiggle just enough to reset the repair status. It doesn't matter if the repair pad is on a space or planet playfield.
