love Map Console so far , in some future i hope that will be able to record some if not all the planets that we have visited and display them at will , that would allow us to have multiple Map console showin our "journey" adding more value to the deco , and even display the description of the planet like : o2 , gravity , faction , ores and even suggest an approach . that would be inmersive. love the game so far , thanks as always !
While I love this idea, I would need a whole planet completely COVERED with these consoles to make maps of all the planets I visit in a typical game...
or 1 console map that allow us to change the planet that we are lookin at , you could interact with it and choose the planet to display , that could be a way to do it , even show us our ship or ships on general !
No kidding, the ship would be pretty cool, especially if you could use text & characters ( arrows, lines, boxes, etc) It'd be pretty cool for missions to point out where an objective is on a ship or POI nearby. Could use triggers to make an icon pop up on it too when you interact with it.
Needs refinement but something like taking the "system search" function out of the galaxy map and move it to a "map console". Once searched it brings the star to the console as the first image, then you can cycle through the others planets in that system like an HTML carousel.
i can even can imagine someone guiding you trough a ship or a structure lookin your location on real time on the map console , that would be inmersive
Agree with this map feature being cool, and lots of good ideas above. My personal wish would be for a larger version - 2x2 or 3x3. I love the idea of the big sci-fi situation room with the hologram providing a center piece!
Hmmm, the thought of sitting around a round table of sort w/ an interactive map with npc crew members or friends on a server planning out an assault on a POI or a player base really makes this piece seem extremely immersive. Reminds me of what it was like to play the old ghost recon games, conflict: desert storm or Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. I love Mil-sim experiences and it would be neat to have a sense of control with the availability of commanding units and planning assaults using a mechanic like this
like the take on planning an assault , i can even imagine being able to interact with the console displaying the ship/planet/poi being able to zom in or out and even point out specific points . even a little device that makes a pulse an draws a map of a designated place and then transfer to the map console to display it allowin us to "edit it" , even plan an structure,ship ,etc . just this console allows so much possibilities , even use the "scanned " location as an information to sell to npcs or other players even as a lore would be excelent . the best reference of what i picture is that of the pyramid scan on the movie alien vs predator.
