For more information see here Bug Report Template Build: 4257 Mode: Survival Mode: Single Player SERVER NAME: NA SEED-ID: Any If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: No Reproducibility: Always Severity: Major Type: Console Command Summary: Using the teleport command with the name of a star system will put the save game into an unusable state. Description: Using the teleport command with the name of a star system instead of the name of a playfield in the star system will teleport the player to the actual star playfield, causing an error popup and making it so you cannot load that save game anymore. The teleport command should instead put you into one of the sun orbit sectors (like Sun Left, Sun Right, etc) instead of attempting to teleport you to an unusable playfield if at all possible. While console commands are always "use at your own risk" this one seems like an easy mistake to make and I don't know of a way to fix the player's save game if it happens. Steps to Reproduce: 1) Start a new survival game. 2) Use the sector command to teleport to a different star system. 3) Use console command teleport Ellyon to attempt to return to your starting system. The game will teleport you and you will be locked out of that save game. In the load game menu you will be listed as being in Ellyon Sun Random and the game will no longer load. For switching between stars you need to use "sector" instead of "teleport" or "tt" f.ex: sector Ellyon or for playfields with more than one word in their name wrap them like this: ssector 'Playfield Name 123' The teleport command is only really for switching between playfields within a Star.
Yes I'm aware of that but I made this report after a player killed their save game by doing this. Luckily they had a backup from 2 days previous. I know it's not a bug and console commands should only be used when you know exactly what you're doing but wanted to report it.
I know this is an old thread, but I unfortunately ran into this by stupidly using the wring command. Is there a way to recover this save by any means? Editing the save game or somehow?
