The initial idea was for "planets only". If someone feels like contributing space stations, go for it. But this might be a bit more complicated ^^
I figured there isnt any POI spawning code yet in space All stations so far are always in the exact same place, nothing is ever seed randomized. So yeah, prolly have to build a whole x y z spawning system, and take into account 'not too close to planet', and also do 'spherical' terrain cutouts to place items near asteroids.
When I look at the quality of the pictures posted in this thread, I think I'll have to double my efforts to stay competitive. Na... I'll tripple them. My buildings are all far larger than those I see in the other images. My vision is an established city made by people who live here and intend to stay here. So I guess its ok. Here's the appartment towers. At least the one style I dare to show. I'll do a third tower 2 more stories high as soon as I can motivate myself to make another two appartments. The appartments are inhabited by members of the middle class, they are well furnished, but nothing espacially fancy. The top floors are of course more for the rich (the Pharos love windows and living up high) and feature a loft and a penthouse appartemnt. Then here we have 3 villas. The front villa turned out to be more a family home but the otheres are luxury homes for the more prominent members of the society. Especally the tower villa is huge and laid out generously. The house in the back is somewhat midle ground and still not furnished. So much to do...
@Dinkelsen No need to be competitive, I doubt they are only picking 'one' set! Just gotta be good enough to please them. Latest mess I'm doing is in this perpetually changing gallery.
This is some fine work. Great use of devices like cores and fuel tanks to add function, as well as form. Very cohesive theme that fits the landscape in the picture very well. The layout reminds me of some settlements in Alaska.
After I'm done with the snow-set... does anyone think I should try making a set based off Species-KX?
Epsilon Administration Hub: In order of appearance: from above - front view - entrance hall/waiting area - conference room - staff lavatories - office room - reception desk - mayor's office - back view - generator shed and fuel pipe
Epsilon Dwelling (less luxurious housing than the one I built first): not much to comment, it's a one room flat with a generator shed on the roof. Here are the blueprints of the Epsilon buildings so far:
So here it is. The final Desert City. With the new command "mergestructs" and setposition" you can build Citys. Yeaaaah This Set has 3 different Houses,a Medical Center, Greenhouse, Spaceport, Communication Tower and a Gas Station.
In your pictures have you 'merged' these buildings or have you just spawned them in for the screenshot ? I'm just curious about the distance the child bases are from the mother base.
Epsilon Communications Relay: front - rear - control desk with capacitor hall - transmissions archive - control room - night view - night view inside
Everybody needs a comms center, because... we do want to watch our favorite tv-shows even in 2404. Right?
I figured all the TV's I put in, were all PBS lol... they are all researchers and scientists afterall in this settlement... they dont need FOX NEEWSSS.
Another house study. This is an appartment block inhabited by the less fortunate members of the society. Ceilings are low and living space is cramped. I think I will polish the houses I have by now (the houses where people live as opposed to installations or stores) and then release the first batch.
Baring any real brainstorms of what else I want to jamb into this set... I think I'm mostly done. Will need to wait till the current experimental builds finish up and go to stable live push. As I need to update some of the deco items and texture/symbols with em. Then I can wrap up a zip of all the pieces, the save file, and a layout file for how to cut the ground for the two partial-subterranean structures. Anyone got any constructive feedback On The Gallery of something I need to fix?
