Today on the smaller server I play on I logged in, in the pilot seat of my CV, upside down. I was right side up when I logged out. The 2 docked small ships are just as I left them, not clipped into the CV.
As of B3257 the sinking docked vessels should be ok now the "rising" vessels sometimes seen though is mostly fixed but may still happen but should be less now. This is to do with a collider overlapping issue that will be fixed as soon as possible.
