I am running a 1070 and about the same time you started having FPS issues, I started getting black-screen-of-death. Turned out the fix was a Windows 10 power setting - changing the "High Performance" power advanced power settings/Power Options/PCI Express/Link State Power Manangement Setting: "Off". I wonder if you are being power throttled by this same setting. Give it a shot!
I'm using the Ryzen power settings, configured by the Ryzen chipset drivers. I already tried that without success. This problem ONLY happen in multiplayer and when I approach other players from certain distance. When I play alone, no FPS drop ever.
I'm also adding to the chorus of people with this Nvidia issue. GTX 1070, but it's not a crash as people suggest. Is it possible the player model is poorly optimized in some dimensions that crashes GPU's somehow? The issue of it occurring in proximity lends me to believe it's yet again, another DSL issue which is causing massive lag spikes for the player model.
The problem continues on 1.5.3.. I cannot play anymore since alpha 12. Every time I go close to a player the player drops to 0
I just upgraded my GPU to a GeForce 2080. I have exactly the same bug. So, it seems to be related to my specific CPU. A friend have INTEL and he see the same problem, but only a frame drop, no freeze or teleport. So.. now 2 years without playing this game My general PC specs: * Windows 11 pro 64 bits v21H2. * AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, * Motherboard ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR VI HERO, * 32Gb Ram DDR4 3000mhz, * Geforce 2080 OC, * SSD 840 EVO 500Gb + Intel SSD 660p 1TB + HDD 2TB + 1 TB Kinston SA400. * DxDiag:
We have applied a fix in this area so now when moving around another player in MP it should be at least smoother or you may see the lag spikes completely gone in this use case. We will be doing another fix for this in the new year to improve it more.
