Mode: Survival, coop and creative SERVER NAME: NA SEED-ID: multiple If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: NA Reproducibility: yes Severity: major Type: game mechanic Summary: SV BP from previous game version has no torque from thrusts, kept torque from RCS Description: Spawned an existing SV BP built in the last two weeks (in A12) was tested in combat single player and coop, worked fine and yaw pitch and roll was acceptable. When I spawned it again last night, my yaw pitch and roll where ONLY affected by the rcs in the sv, tested this by turning rcs off and all maneuverability went to "0". The BP has thrusters L and thrusters jet M. Removed the thrusters jet M and regained maneuverability from the thrusters L. When I attempted to put thrusters L where the previus thrusters jet M where, the maneuverability went back to "0". BP has been tested by 3 different players on 3 different computers, on the same updated version of A12. Steps to Reproduce: Load included BP and test maneuverability Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links:
Same issue with a BP made early Alpha 12. Reduced from 25 yaw to 0 as no torque from thrusters anymore (no RCS in this build). Pitch and roll also reduced to zero. Original stats:
Hmm while trying to fix the HV, I found that by cutting off all but the bottom two layers and tranplanting I could get Yaw working again. Then started adding thrusters back on the bottom. It reaches a point where adding more thrusters suddenly reduces all thruster torque to 0. Here is the BP at the point where it still works. If you add 2 more LargeT2 thrsuters or 4 more MediumT2 thrusters it will immediately lose all yaw, roll and pitch. It seems the issue is tied to amount of thrust in some way? BP attached
While working to upgrade an older ship to 12.4 I encountered a weird issue whereupon placing a thruster the ship's pitch roll and yaw were all reduced to 0. I at first thought this could be an issue with this ship specifically so I created a new sv to test it out. Oddly, the same error occurred but at a different thruster total than with the previous ship. This is the first ship prior to adding the thrusters that break it. Then this is after the thrusters break it Fresh SV made to test it prior to the break Fresh SV after the break
What puzzles me here... Why does it seem that this... "issue" ... does not affect everyone's Vessel Build?
No idea, its not affected the CV or SVs I built or updated for A12- including a bunch of other HVs and SVs. Nor is it anything to do with thruster placement as suggested in the other thread, as my actual pvp builds are unaffected (including if I add more thrusters to them). If we knew what caused it it would be worth risking building again, but spending days on a build for it to suddenly stop working from alpha 12.1 to alpha 12.3 is sadly demotivating.
I am having this same issue. In A12.3 I had a small vessel that would only turn in creative but not in survival. I spawned this SV in yesterday in A12.4 and it worked in survival. I played it all day yesterday and it was fine. Today I was finishing up on planet, mining out some neo, when I got in and turned on thrusters, no pitch yaw roll. I entered orbit, same. I restarted, same. I deleted cache, same. Turned on and off thrusters dozens of times, every combination of restarting and turning on and off thrusdters and vessel power....still not torques at all. Thrust in all directions, no torque. I add RCS and get a tiny amount of torque. Not enough before exceeding cpu limits (about 6deg/s) for about 20RCS. This from a vessel that was responsive and maneuverable without RCS just this morning. Exasperating. Is there any work around? Attached is the BP Also, It's not entirely accurate to say it does not affect other builds. All of my CV's (even ones designed in A12) stop having torque is I turn off thrusters then turn them back on again. However, I can mitigate this by restrating the game with the thrusters turned on before I leave the game. This does not happen all the time. This SV is doing the same thing, I believe, only much more severe. Once the torque cuts out during a thrust power cycle it does not come back. Again, I power cycled thrusters for this SV probably 3 or 4 times before I lost torque, like in the Cv's. I just cannot get it back again.
I expect it will at first. It did for me for a couple of days. Today, however, I turned off the propulsion switch, got out an did some mining. I got back in and when I turned on the propulsion switch no torque. I ahve not been able to get it back into a state were I had torque. Also, that's odd about the sliders. I don't touch those normally. In my survival game I did turn the sliders to zero (they were at 1.0) and back to 1.0 but this did not bring back the torque.
That in itself is an issue because the last we were told they aren't saved in blueprints at all. Unless that was changed and wasn't put in the patch notes or updated in the known issue list. https://empyriononline.com/threads/...own-issues-troubleshooting.47118/#post-290341
