Not doing anything on interior, it did cross my mind though but ultimately it was not a workshop release, i just retextured and changed some bits on the galaxy 110 to suit a pvp combat event scenario. I wanted to build a dedicated battleship for said event but currently do not have the time of day to do it (
Everyone's making boats nowadays! I had to get in on the action. Your stuff served as inspiration though. I tried the new hovers but they were kind of weak and would only raise it up half height. Probably works very nice for a micro build but I had the room to add RCS/thrusters so I opted to use the normal ones. What raised the level on it was 1) passenger chairs and 2) medic station. At that point I was like the hell with it and tossed a constructor in there for good measure.
If you use shift it's able to flip itself straight again. Though I am going to make another lvl 1 hv, that actually works well for ZeroG's challenge.
Think i need your input on this base Iam building. So far it has a small and a medium landing pad, an HV dock inside with a great hall like room above the dock. As you can see i wanted to hold on on the style from my Hillside Base and maybe create a whole set of so themed bases. like: single landing pad, Medicfacility, Production, Hangars, Greenhouse, Defences... you get it. So, now the question i have is where to go with this one? I can't make my mind clear if it needs a tower with maybe a third landing pad on top and therefor would become more like an playerhome or central travelhub. The other solution i have in mind is to put a storage area in the "back" and let it be the Production facility. What does you think would fit this one more? Here are the pics of what i have so far: Spoiler: more screenies HV Dock the Hall (good as Production area or traveller entrace) edit @Vermillion great work on your pumping stations!
Tower sounds nice... My thoughts: Maybe a bit off-set with 'bridges' to the landing pads (middle'sh of the tower) and main building (a bit above the others)? Looks like you have 4 blocks to do a production/storage below the right pad, if you use thin flat blocks as ceiling on the 4th block, you have the lower 3 blocks to fill the production hall. Production in the back sounds nice too, maybe... again… with a bridge to the main building or at least to the lowest landing pad, which would give you room to try yourself at a production floor inspired by Vermillion's factory stuff he just posted above…. *Dream on... Dream on.... sing sing*
Wow, another really solid base. Nice work! Make it a storage facility. Have a wrap-around docking area in/on the part of the base that does not already have a landing pad and then install elevators via "impressionistic building" Either way, I am eagerly awaiting this one to be done.
Not much but updated my Lunar-X into a happy medium of usefulness! Lunar-X2 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1504481216 Part of a Challenge Build going on right now! Be sure to stop by and be generous with handing our Thumbs Ups! Also I urge you all to take part and submit a build! It is fun! Link here: https://empyriononline.com/threads/zerog-challenge-build-04.43709/ Also already have many way better builds that you can check out at a handy Challenge Collection link. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1504465881
I made a box. Of course, if asked I would state that I built a survival CV but in essence, its a box cosisting of smaller boxes within a box shaped armor. So, a box with thrusters... and guns. I usually build small stuff as I am obsessed with efficiency. But my trusted "Wanderer" Series missed an HV garage, so I set out to make something that could hold my new hover tank. Also I wanted to be able to fly the ship over a POI and let the turrets do the messy work while sipping cocktails and skim-reading damage reports. So the design cornerstones were: Needs a hangar and garage for SV and CV As fuel efficient as possible Needs lots of cannon turrets for POI raiding Needs some minigun turrets for drone defense Has to be armored so that flying over a POI will not cripple the ship while the turrets destroy the POI's turrets Has to be made from steel, covered with armored steel, covered with combat steel (for weight tuning) Needs lots of switches to configre the ship's functions (its me, after all) Should be made in Pharos style (what a surprise!) which meant lots of rather smooth armor pieces as I am not very good at grieveling. And I do like it that way... The result was a "Shotgun CV" (a ship that looks a little like an oversized futuristic shotgun) I saw such a ship on the forums but could not remember where and so had to rely on memory for inspiration. It turned out to be a little too large for my taste, but its the first iteration after all. It also has space weapons that are mostly for the looks as I could not find anything in SP to shoot them at... So then I tried it out in SP, but did not want to simply spawn it in (or grind the hell to build it in the factory...) so I went for a middle ground. I beat it up with a rocket launcher (or 4...) removing all devices until only the shell remained and spawned that into a SP game. Of course I forgot to save the damage states in the BP, but yeah. The goal for this game was to get the ship operational again and fly it over the radar station - and then watch the fireworks... The ship performed well but has some "optimization opportunities". Some things needs streamlining and some devices need repositioning. The usual iterations. At the moment, we made our first warp jump and are currently inspecting a barren planet. (Inspecting as in: "This drone base does not conform to UCH regulations and has to be removed.")
I was thinking about Jenniphurr's HV challenge and came up with a more "extreme" version that I am working on. It's a personal challenge, one that I am racking my brain trying to make something visually interesting from. I am only allowing myself to use the 8 steel blocks you get from the HV starter block. Adding the bare minimum of 1 generator, 1 fuel tank, 1 cockpit, & 2 hover thrusters to make the HV. I tried 1 hover thruster, and it is too weak to get this build any higher off the ground. Thats as high as it can fly, before adding the additional weight of the 8 steel blocks. This is where I am currently at, but I debating on changing out the block shapes.
Gosh, Dinks, man! I love your stuff. So geometrically elegant. I also love the CV pad that it is sitting on. Got any pics of the interior? That image with the tubes is very interesting. Great use of minimal materials and the lit textures. Would a spot light in place of the front curved bit by a workable addition, or is that too much?
Added a little boardwalk and drinks patio to my Jetty area: Think ill try and evolve it into a bigger pier for some of Furious Hellfires excellent boats
I was trying to keep the devices to an absolute minimum. The only reason it has two hover engines is because it's not very functional with one. If I go for a spotlight, I would use a regular light in spotlight configuration to keep the level requirement down.
Found a much needed iron rock just over a rise, and also under a watchful Epsilon base... and a grazing Pangolin. Sent in drone to mine it. Epsilon shot my drone but I got my iron. Pangolin took some collateral damage from the blasts... and it blamed me for it and attacked me!!!
More work on Station #15 today. Takes hours just applying textures to everything, then painting. Though that's infinitely better than just giving up texturing halfway through and calling it done. You know who you are. Finally, the exterior is presentable. Roof still needs more deco, and the top of the turbine tower isn't finished. And I still have 2 whole buildings to build.
