I made it to one of the wrecked bases that come with a solar panel and battery, but it wouldn't turn on. Even spawning a new base with a full set of solar panels did nothing even though the current output was positive (average output was negative). I would have lived from the cold if I could have turned on the power to the base. I'll have to do some tests after the next experimental update.
I discovered crystaline alien lifeforms living just above the icy rings of a distant gas giant... Except this isn't Empyrion - tonight I took a break to play something else, while I wait for the A10 live release, and scheme up some interesting new designs, and try to figure out how to use all the various design tools we have to build an interesting new scenario with customized, well, pretty much everything - from the star system to the PDA and everything in between, to offer up something I think will appeal to just about everyone.
My first thought was "that's cool... I'm going to make that in my scenario!" Then I realized that wasn't Empyrion. I'm still going to do it though! Thanks for the inspiration!
That would be Elite: Dangerous. Really great game, just be sure you have a spare life to devote to it! Glad to inspire! Shouldn’t be terribly hard to come up with something based on it. Looking forward to see what you come up with here!
It's finally done... After months of working on this goddamn ship, the FA-033A Millenium is finally complete. I just finished installing the last of the lights a few minutes ago. The lights put it up 5 class sizes to size 85 now. There are a couple of unfilled rooms on the lower deck, but they're intentionally empty for any future tech that might get added in future. I had space so I put in a startrek transporter. The devs must be huge fans of Star Trek: Enterprise (the series, not the ship) since we used the same "Polarized Hull" shields they do and the CV warp drive is almost identical to the Enterprise's one in that series. Zirax plasma turrets also look suspiciously like Phase cannons as well. The industrial corridor finally has lights. Though they don't render all the way to the end. Torpedo bay with red lights. Here's a new addition. There are two of the flight simulator rooms on the lower deck for training purposes... mostly. A copy of the ship's bridge for command training situations. The millenium has an entire training academy on board at this point. And because I accidentally dragged the wrong screenshot, here's LAZ0R BEEEMZ!!!1
Today I decided to put a shield generator on the T2 Osanshouo. Space is limited, because it was a challenge build and has to fit through a 13x7 hangar door. I wanted to keep that aspect of the build, so it's height and width are fixed. In the end, I said "to heck with it all" and took a page from Firefly. I also wanted to have a little fun, charged the shields, and flew straight into the minefield. ... Only to find out that the mines will not explode if you fly next to them in a CV. Wheres the kaboom? There was supposed to be an earth-shattering kaboom!

The key to this is that you can write on a LCD Screen and than , by hitting enter or space, move the Written message OUTSIDE of the actual frame...

Working on the hangars today. I still need to populate it with deco/computer consoles etc and maybe a few more details. Spoiler Here's what the old hangars looked like. New hangar. It has a bigger door and a higher ceiling. All new layout. Currently there's only two hangars. I want eight total, two on each side of the station, so it's symmetrical all the way around. When I'm finished designing it I'm going to copy and paste as much as I can to cut down on build time. Edit: I got to thinking that maybe I could make these hangars more functional by adding access to furnaces, storage, and constructors as well as the medical devices. That's what all the cool kids are doing. Where to put it though. Spoiler I started by looping a corridor around to the sides of the hangar into the space behind the sloping walls but it wasn't big enough so I'm sittin' here lookin' at this utility corridor that runs between the hangars. It's kind of useless really. Out it goes! So I started digging..... There's a lot more space here than I first thought. I'll just dig this section out, add a little bit over there, maybe move that wall a bit....
