I guess I never thought of it as a map as it doesn't show terrain. Nomenclature is not a strong suit in this game.
Finished the interior of the FA-058A Altostratus so it's now completed. I immediately went on to make 2 variants of it: The FA-058B and C; with the B designed for Reforged Galaxy and the C as a Tier 4 for either loaded with maximum weapons on all the hardpoints and a combat steel body. The interior color scheme is old, dirty military in style. With brown-tinged grays and charcoal. Bridge Starboard Engineering Port Server Room Altostratus A, B and C accompanying a Stratus. The undersides. Unlike the Stratus which can't stop in space, the Altostratus has full mobility. Weapons are all retracted. I also finished to an acceptable level the first release version of the Reforged Galaxy Mod. Get it here: https://empyriononline.com/threads/reforged-galaxy.91810/
A few shots of the USSF Mammoth flying into a CV locked moon, with 2 area denial pods, the Spearhead tank and a Runabout. It wasn't a particularly active moon drone wise, so the pods didn't see any action defending the insertion area, and the tank needs some majoy work. She lost her shields after getting stuck on some rocks trying to pull back, and I ended up finishing a drone base with the Barrage. Last picture is the Runabout docked between the wings of the Spearhead, that part was at least effective.
While working on the ocean planet, I spent some time to start working on the rogue planet start and tested it with my brother. The idea is that you were on a Zirax prison transport that crash landed on this rogue planet at the edge of a solar system due to warp navigation errors caused by the gravity of the undetected planet. You have to fight your way off the crashed transport ship and escape from the Zirax drones and patrols. It will be a fight for survival as you deal with both hostile wildlife and Zirax patrols who are looking to recapture escaped prisoners, while trying to keep your own oxygen and fuel supply up. Wood will only be obtainable in small amounts from rare Wood Walkers spawns or from the tops of tall mountains., and food has to be gathered from the local wildlife. Resources will be rare, and cold will be a danger at night without a heater. The planet, moons, and orbit will all have the blueprint factory disabled, so everything must be unlocked and built manually. There are only tiny specks of water on the planet, so you have to mostly rely on the emergency o2 condensers which work at a low efficiency. It's meant to be an ultra difficulty start that combines both environmental and combat challenges. Hopefully I can make it very challenging even for experienced players. Much harder than the dead planet start in my scenario.
That sounds like a fantastic way to restart after I spend a week or 3 in creative adjusting some of the problems with my fleet. Is it feasible with the game yet to have a start inside a cv under attack in space? I'm picturing giant gaping holes in the ship, explosions, bulkheads suddenly not being there anymore, and when the enemy leaves you have to scavenge the ship to get it running enough to get to a planet.
Why are you not getting paid for these ideas?!?!? Take muh munies! Frak'en Awesome Stuff @ravien_ff , as always!
Looks like something right out of that other game with the name we will not speak of... Beautifully designed @Vermillion! I hope to see these included as part the game's next update!
I've already begged the Devs for such after the other Boarding Ramps came out & I tested them out & discovered their problem with Vertical Clearance & large Vehicles. Dunno when or if they'll ever manage it, but i'm still praying to Arceus for getting them someday... & if Personnel Versions also show up so much the better. Ya haven't read Harry Potter, have ya? Don't fall for Shenanigans like "You know who" & such... it just gives the bogey Free Power. (Fuck you Moldy Voldy! )
Sort of possible. You can't make AI ships attack but you could simulate a battle with explosive blocks triggered by timers and sensors. If the starter location is an actual CV then it would only be usable in single player or coop (first player gets the ship and server would need to do a manual playfield poi reset to respawn it for the next player probably). Thought about making that as a possible start type. Thank you! If I was getting paid then I'd have to do what somebody else said instead of what I want.
Hmmmm, I've not much interest in getting into scenario making, but until the AI can be controlled I may just need to set up a ship for such a start. Cheese it in, set off the fireworks, then see if its possible to survive with nothing but a multi tool. Should be a decent way to get better with the logic as well.
I requested it as my 3 most wanted Features back in Oct. 2019 https://empyriononline.com/threads/...e-addition-or-change.80749/page-5#post-365383
Today I revisited one of my oldest builds and reworked the cockpit. There is much more visibility from within the ship now. (but it is still a flying brick) Old: New:
I built a mission that had this sort of effect, originally for HWS server, that was then later included in the main game release. It was called "top gun" mission, when you emerged from the portal you were in a admin core "CV" which was actually a BA (called the damocleas) with player sv's in the hanger. This was surrounded by space drones and a small CV. The drones immediately started to fire on the Damocles, which could not be harmed, so the effect was mainly the sound of multiple plasma shots hitting the ship in the midst if a battle. The turrets on the Damocles would reply and finish off the drones adding more sounds and allowing players to leave the hanger safely and start the mission proper in their sv's. They would also have the visual spectacle of flying past the wrecks of space drones showing the aftermath of the battle. I never used exploding blocks though, not sure they were around at the time, could imagine they would greatly enhance the possibilities. Also I think the Space life server features a game start on a CV that is blowing up which you need to get to the escape pod. I have not tried it but @SifVerT might chip in a description? I do think there is a lot of room for more cinematic scene s/events etc in the base game, combined with appropriate music etc
Started on a new CV today. Finished the exterior and started on the interior, though it's a mess at present. I might redo the decks since they don't quite fit together. The FA-059 Crusader.
Agreed. Being able to have ACTUAL FACTION WARFARE would kick it up to the next level, instead of them just all ganging up on us players and our factions. I still dream of warping into a space field and accidentally stumbling into the midst of a full out war with dog-fights and explosions, laser flying everywhere!
Oh crap, now I'm going to have to hook up my external drive and start watching Battlestar while I play... that would be awesome.
