Hanger door like block that is flat and can be textured like a normal block. It extends out to create a landing pad. It eould be nice if the extention part already looked like a landing pad.
instead of new blocks and devices you should add the ability to rescale blocks to what ever size we want. Add parts like hinges, shock, slide, pistons, so we can build are own stuff including are own weapons and such. I do not know if it can be done with the game engine or not but if it can it would be amazing
Been a while since I've posted here, but I've read through everything I missed and I don't believe I will double post... if I do, apologies. Recently reacquired Solidworks and it has motivated me to make some suggestions; I will break them up for easier digestion. This post is about roundy bois~ First off, I'd love to see large cylinders turned into a full series, in the same way that we have small cylinders. I know that the large 90 degree cylinder has already been posted, and that we do have a 6-way joint, but the rest I haven't seen: Second - we have the inverse of a normal large cylinder, and it is large enough to walk through.... consequently, I'd love to see more options in this style in order to make some varied and fun hallways and passageways.
Here we have some rather simple blocks that would honestly have never occurred to me if I hadn't attempted to build some spheres - though, after considering the potential for these geometries, I think they could be rather useful - and another random block I found a use for.
Last post for today - and while I have included some examples, this is more of a general concept than a specific block I need right this instant. We have lots of great blocks in the lower half of the build space - what if we had versions raised into the top half? Here are a random smattering (really, I just grabbed a few, honestly didn't even bother to think about which I'd want the most due to the huge application range of this concept) of such blocks, and one example of a block that does have the equivalent "raised" shape for reference. And, of course, the modified versions - note the block that does exist in the top right. For me, the real kicker for this concept is that it's application is not limited to blocks only: Imagine lights connected to the standard half block, a turret that has the corresponding base size added in half blocks, or other things like deco blocks, cockpits, and so on. Being able to effectively utelise the upper half of the block space would hugely expand our build capabilities. Lights, especially, would be a great addition, as many awesome hallway shapes can be achieved by using a half block ceiling. While I'm harping on the theoretical, real quick thought - what if force fields and railings didn't have collider boxes? e.g. you could have a railing running "inside" a catwalk floor or stairs so that the primary walking space can be directly adjacent to another block, or a new force field model centered in a block instead of at the edge could be "inset" into a shaped doorway to fill the opening... Being someone who knows next to nothing about how these things work I have no idea if this is possible, but it sure would be neat. One final note, since this post seems to be mostly "what if" and less actual "do this" - I know there are a lot of obsolete models for turrets, thrusters, warps, fuel tanks, etc; devices in general. Perhaps we could see these reintroduced as alternates to the current library - e.g. when you grab a generator, it opens up with right click in the same way the normal blocks do, and there's more models there. Of course this isn't limited to only old models, and I could certainly make some suggestions as to potential new geometries...
Little follow up to the round blocks from yesterday. I know that I've seen mention of a 45 degree cylinder before, whether it was on this thread or not I'm not sure - but as I agree with the notion, I went ahead and modeled up three new parts to effectively implement the concept: These could be made available in both large (pictured above) and small cylinders, and assembled as such: (I've highlighted the small filler blocks in these examples for better visibility) One other thing I haven't seen mentioned is a small expansion to our cone selections. I've seen a few posts regarding 1x1 cylinder terminations, but nothing regarding these two blocks (there are more possible, I just don't see them as particularly useful) for 2x2 center cylinders. Both, of course, fit entirely within a 1x1x1 block space. That's all for now; keep building!
A very simple block suggestion that would make things so much easier.... One to seamlessly connect the corner of a structure like this.
Have any of these blocks ever actually made it into the game? If not, what is holding this up? If simply a matter of resource can you not talk to some of the modellers in this thread who appear to have already done the 3d work and just need to get the models (and maybe make colliders if applicable) into the game resources with assigned block ids etc. Or are spare block Ids the problem? Well starship evo also appears to be a unity game.

I did what you suggested (before I found this post) and it works....sort of. 1. The Ramps are not airtight. If you want to oxygenate your vessel, it requires the addition of forcefields (doors or emitters) to do so. 2. As my build is a SV, it brought out another problem; an insufficient assortment of ramps. It required 2 opposed ramps for the outer closure and 1 ramp that requires a jump to get on as there isn't one long enough to reach the ground. This last bit is a design choice, I know, but it would be nice to have a little more flexibility in that design. Angled Shutter Doors w/ forcefields and more Boarding Ramps, including for SVs, would be most useful....and appreciated.
Well it looks good, if not a little short, and I have felt that pain many, many, many times. Ramps and Boarding Ramps are almost always at least 1 block too short (or landing gear are one block too long). I really hate having to design a ship around how one gets in or out of it, or having to design very specialized parking areas for them in order to get in and out without some major efforts.
They could have just added the HV turret, but no - for some bizarre reason they had to add a completely new turret consuming a precious ID so they could frig with it separately.
I'd like to see a smaller turret footprint (1x1, 2x2) with the same firepower to provide more flexibility in configuration. It seems 3x3 seldom fits in my SVs. Can I do a redesign? Yes. Do I want to? No! Will I? Maybe.
That would work. Revise the sentry gun to full-auto and 15mm (or 30mm?) ammo. The mini-gun turret used to look more like a door-mounted gun on a Huey. Bring it back?
