For more information see here Bug Report Template Build: 4914 Game environment: Main Menu Platform: Steam DLC Installed: No SEED-ID: N/A If applicable: SERVER NAME: N/A If applicable:: Are you using any unofficial mods or custom maps ?: N/A (occurs at main menu) Reproducibility: Almost always Severity: Enraging Summary: Video settings regularly reset themselves to the worst settings upon starting the game. Description: Starting the game will reset the graphics settings to the worst settings possible. Texture Resolution remains at max (correct) and character resolution remains at my previously set Half. At this point all the remaining settings jam themselves to Low, Near or Off instead of my previous configurations. Most notably is that "AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution" option turns itself to Quality and this setting is responsible for all the complaints from players claiming that Empyrion looks like a PS1 game. Super Resolution breaks the game and it always defaults to On after any patch. Steps to Reproduce: 1) Start the game 2) Options > Video 3) Oh look, everything is set wrong. 4) Suffer Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links: This started happening about a week ago, right after experimental went live. I am not using Experimental, but i'm pretty sure there was a patch and now I have to reconfigure my video settings every time since then. Super Resolution is also trash. Why is the default for this the highest settings when it pixelates the game?
Hi, I couldn't reproduce anything from this report the video settings for me on 2 different machines don't show the described behavior (checked with presets & customized settings). On our current EXP branch the build has a change to force any up scaling options (DLSS/FSR) to always be a manual option that is disabled by default for any preset. Can you retry on that build & see if the behavior persist for you or not ? if it does can you provide more info as to exactly what video options you are changing when this is noticed to have happened ? Please note: With existing game installs, an activated setting (Such as DLSS/FSR) stays active since that is stored in Windows Registry.
