Thank you for the tool, it's amazing and im just getting to grips. i think there is a bug where the "Action Complete Message" is duplicating onto other tasks. Am i doing something wrong here? I did 3 very small missions but then the completion message ended up being the same on all. They did work at first when play testing but then they all changed the same. Cheers
Hi Andrillo, Glad you're finding the tool usefull. This sounds weird. Can you please send me your PDA.yaml, and PDA.csv in a message?
Thanks for coming back to me so quickly. I'm not sure how to send a direct message with attachments. I deleted my old one to restart so i have just done it again. It seems to always be the completion message that duplicates. They all changed to Placeholder End. Its probably something really silly im doing :S Hope the attachment shows ok. Cheers Andy
Hey again Andy, Thank you for the files. *what* is wrong is clear to me.. They are using the same reference.. How that *got to be* wrong however is puzzling me. Perhabs you can take me through the process you used to create it, step by step? How was the file you started with? What did you do? (up onto the point you clicked 'save') This would be helpfull in tracking down what is wrong
Thanks Exacute, please see below. Just to let you know when i first run my scenario in the game, it works perfect. It's when i next load up the PDA Helper. - Started by getting the PDA files from the example and deleting the data apart from the top 2 lines of the Yaml, i delete all the CSV. - I load the helper for the first time and blue placeholder circle shows so i double click into that. - Change the chapter title - Change the description and the preamble - I go down the tasks and change the placeholder task that shows up (i think) i only change the title on this but entered placeholder start and end last time so i could see what they did. - I would then create the action of what i want to do, change the action title, description and completed message. - Thats when i create the 2nd action beneath it and do the same above with different things to do. I save the file quite often and saved it after every part i did above. After i save i close it all down and go into Empyrion to test it out. Everything works perfectly from giving me the right end messages and titles. When i reload the helper and then go back in by double clicking the blue chapter circle and then just looking over the other task/action to add more details they would all say the same. the action titles stay perfect and i think the description does aswell, its the completion message that changes to the same one. its very interesting on the same reference though. I hope i have given enough details above and i make sense. i'm very new (today) from using this so my understanding may not be very good. Cheers, Andy
Well. Apparantly it is now not only flagged as a virus, but in breach of their ToS.. For crying out loud... Either way, there's a dropbox mirror: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/0r3m8orf6diiqsd/AADXFBXQ4h88L3bkZECARoC2a?dl=0 (I also updated the main post with links to mirrors)
I'm afraid there currently is no plans to localize the tool and/or the default language you are writing in (English). The tool wasn't designed with this in mind, so doing this would practically require a rewrite of the entire thing (Something I'm not currently planning). I'm sorry for the inconvenience
this tool checks only the PDA.csv and PDA.yaml files in PDA directory, or anything else? this tool is awesome, it has also all check: windowopened specify Windows i was looking for techtree but i wasnt sure which window Name it has before i was editing the PDA.csv and PDA.yaml files by Hand xD thanks for this awesome work !!!
I'm not sure what you are asking: This tool allows you to edit & view the PDA of either a scenario, or default. This can be from the normal install directory, or a server directory. It mines a lot of data from the game however, to help you fill out the different possibilities. (such as all the items, biomes, npcs, playfields, (...))
this tool reads the first entry of chapther info, isnt easy for you to Change to second entry? example: RPAkT9A1,Follow Marker,Folge der Markierung,Suivre Marqueur,,,,,,,,找到标记,,,,Ακολούθησε τον Δείκτη maybe you could tell me where i can Change the reading Setup so, its not needed to Change the language of tool, but the reading of descriptions
While it sounds simple, it is not There's a LOT of content-control involved, to make sure the data is valid. The easiest thing, if you want to localize, is to initially write it in english, or something in german, depending on your choice, and later either maually editing it, or using my tCSV tool for editing csv.
do I have to click on each yellow task individually to have it translated? i changed in PDA.csv File the sequence of first line from KEY,English,Deutsch,.... to KEY,Deutsch,English and now i have the description in german if i export a file only in german, i have to use in first line KEY,English instead of KEY,Deutsch
hello again, maybe you could check the emp_configuration.html. when i use it, it extract a file with a empty space before every value. this makes problem for emp_launcher.exe and it doesnt work anymore until i remove the empty space for each value manualy example here wrong: "UseExecutable": "firefox.exe", example here correct: "UseExecutable":"firefox.exe", its curious why it Shows correct in the preview for copy paste but when i paste it it has also blank spaces
question: when i use the copy chapter data button, should this copy all data for PDA.csv and PDA.yaml ? because it does not Edit: sorry i figured out, when i use the the copy chapter data button for pasting empty files, the PDA.yaml Needs the line "chapters:" in front. otherwise it says corrupt
question: is it possible to read also the StartMessage from PDA.csv ? its not working for me example from Default SP scenario: RPAkT2StartMessage,Open your player inventory with [ff4444]TAB[-].
