Decoy turrets - will they be fixed/removed in forseeable future?

I often experience this too. It might indicate there is a resource problem. It seems to be much worse in PvP, or when the server is laggy. It's almost like some of this calculation is going on server side, and the server is falling further and further behind as the action intensifies. Maybe it is to prevent aim-botting of some kind. It's even worse on planet in large SV brawls, I find.

I think decoys may or may not have ammo loaded or be switched on. If you prioritise targets that have done damage (to you, and then to allies?) in the last two minutes (you'd need to track damage), that should cover everything. Tracking damage and sources over a 1min might take a bit to code, but it wouldn't be resource intensive even on a server. For optimisation you'd be able to exclude any other calculation for the non-priorities until all priority targets are gone.

I can't swear it really is better, but I've used simple defense post 'turret bases' a couple time now and they may be less lazy than turrets mounted onto a base with all the other bits running.

Just a buried core/genie/fuel/ammo-box/(+ battery_if_going_solar) with a stalk or two sticking up out of the ground w turrets on top.

  3. If you mean resource problem as in my pc being under spec or low spec, I guarantee that's not the case here. I run with 32gigs RAM, gtx 1070, ssd, i7 6700k. I'm still quite a bit above recommended spec in most areas.
My 1070 isn't the best now that they recommend a GTX 1660 Ti, but at 1080p my 1070 is nearly identical spec.
You may be correct there. I notice it the most on my full base that has all my things like grow plots and constructors, even if they aren't running. I also notice it a lot on CV's though and I tend to not have as much on my CV.

I'm bringing the thread off topic though. I apologize.

100% agree here. Of course, if I'm targeting something manually, I'm prone to go for something a little more critical - like the pilot.
Take that out and the ship is pretty close to useless.
