I have an interesting idea for a star type that would have such massive radiation or magnetic output that shields would be impossible to bring up in those systems, but unfortunately there is no way to disallow shields at a playfield level. Could this be added? Thanks. Edit: for the curious, my idea was to implement magnetars, aka neutron stars with absolutely redonkulous magnetic fields that could interfere with shields. It would be a good place for a faction like pirates to hide all their god-tier loot and their best sandwiches. All the other properties I'd need can be set in a playfield config. Just not shield use.
