For servers and custom scenarios: the galaxy and solar system configuration is almost completely customizable. You can modify the properties and solar system generation of any existing star type or make new ones. You can make a smaller galaxy or even add multiple galaxies. You can also use fixed sectors in addition to a galaxy. There are currently only a handful of things that you can't set yet. The rest is up to your imagination.
The Choice of Answers to the Poll sounds a bit like (what we call) a Soviet Vote: Yes or YES, there is no NO!
I had to give 2 answers. Other than that, if you do not like the feature, no need to give a thumbs up
In my thinking this was the one key, essential, must have, no living without it thing. EGS is now almost feature complete, and I'm very excited about getting out there.
I was also very exited at the prospect of using A12 and it finally happen this morning. Since my enthusiasm has been dampened to the extend of wishing to return to version 11. Currently, for me anyway the game is no longer playable and internal error notification are common. For example attempting to reach orbit is impossible. Prior to reach orbit the "internal error message" appears and the prompt to mail the error to the developers. Concluding, is there a way to return to Alpha 11.
Best way to get help is to write a proper Bug Report, so the Devs have a Chance to provide help Report here -> https://empyriononline.com/forums/bugs.24/ and using this Spoiler: Report REPORT TEMPLATE Post your bugs here using the following template: Mode: (Creative, Survival, Freedom mode) Mode: (Singleplayer, Dedicated Server, Peer2Peer Coop) SERVER NAME: (If the issue happened on a public server, please add the name here) SEED-ID: (Please always add the SEED-ID for SingleplayerSurvival games; Open the console. The Seed is noted somewhere to the "playfield loaded" dialogue) If applicable: MODIFIED PLAYFIELDS: Yes/No/DontKnow (<- YES if new planets or non-default playfields are used. Use DontKnow if you are not aware if anything has been changed) Reproducibility: (Always, Sometimes, Unable) Severity: (Trivial, Minor, Major, Crash) Type: (Global / O2Rooms / Temperature,Radiation / Player Armor,Boosters / Repair / Teleport,Portals / Instances / Triggers,Sensors / AIVessels / Gamestart / ... ) Summary: (1-liner = can be the same as the thread headline) Description: (short description: 1-2 sentences) Steps to Reproduce: (steps to reproduce the issue. This is ESSENTIAL for a bugfix!) Screenshots, Crash Logs, any other Relevant Information or Download links: ( Note: for more complex reproduction usecases that require quite some "setup", please create a savegame and upload it to a service & also attach a copy of your client log (& crashes log if a crash occurred):
Yes you can change it to alpha 11 in the betas tab of Steam, but like @Germanicus mentioned it would really help if you file a bug report since you're unlikely to be the only one experiencing this issue and it can help fix it!
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my query. In the interim I have started a new game, this solved all the issues I encountered. The only draw back with starting a new game is, all resources collected over the past 6 weeks vanished. Ahh.. well one day you are filthy rich and the next you are a pauper (a bit like real life). Again thank you for your assistance.
There are not enough thumbs IN said galaxy to indicate how much I love its addition to the game. Bravo Eleon!
I see. I guess in the future this will change. Having playing much the ExpA12 and jumping around the galaxy to reach various Faction areas, I had the feeling I was visiting systems with more moons than planets. Given that moons are usually small in size I felt like I was playing back in pre Alpha era when we had one size planets and they were small.
I saw this video and thought it would be nice if the galaxy and the solar system's maps could be like this. Just zooming from the galaxy to each system to view the planets and set course.
If warp was direct to anywhere you have explored, non-instantaneous (took a few minutes) and you had something to do like walking around your ship during the journey, great. You could implement this by placing the ship in an empty "warping" playfield with lighting effects, and just hold the ship still for walking around while the ship location updated on the map. Something similar might work for sublight warp too. Details: https://empyriononline.com/threads/...ing-around-during-flight-damocles-idea.94090/
