Some planets are very hostile to life outside your cockpit or ship interior. It would be interesting to have deployable bubble shields of various sizes, not for defence but for the creation of a temporary safe work environment. They would offer a controlled ambient temperature, protection from radiation and resistance to damaging weather effects. You would deploy them in space or on the ground. They would be powered, consuming energy cells based on how different the temperature is etc. Larger bubbles would also consume more power. The sizes might range from 2m up to 100m. Doing this would allow you to do a variety of activities on foot in hostile environments for a cost (with a configurable power multiplier in the config file) in hostile environments. This might further allow mineral types that are delicate and must be hand-mined, or create mission scenarios which have an interesting sense of urgency as the bubbles drain and eventually start shrinking, for example a rescue mission to keep NPCs alive. image credit: reedsy.com
Lol. Also sounds like a good idea. It would be interesting selecting the right force-field item for the job.
Makes me think of the Space Engineer shield mod. It a proper bubble shield and you can make a shield ventilator that fills the shield bubble with warm O2. Great for a moon base
