1) Can we create some kind of basic aerodinamics? Than, overweighted SV/CV can still fly, if has big enough wings and speed. We already have atmosphere density. Currently it affects only weapons. We can use it for wings too: in the moons, without atmosphere, wings should not works. 2) to help over-weighted SV/CV take off and get enough speed to fly, can we add a afterburner for engines(take a lot of energy, can't work maybe long than 15 seconds)?
As CVs and SVs are kind of VTOL, I'm having trouble imagining how this would work. Adding wings to a HV might be interesting though, as the hover mode essentially acts like the landing gear mode on a real plane. Programming even simple aerodynamics is probably 10x harder than the simple directional physics being used at the moment though. Perhaps it would be worth it to have atmospheric flying vehicles though. Also once you have them, for next the step, Zeppelins anybody?
I don't know aerodynamics, so this is a question made in ignorance. Wouldn't different atmospheres and gravity mean that wings and other flight surface configurations be unique to a planet?
It could be as simple as adding extra (tiny) vertical/horizontal thrust bonuses based on the size and orientation of the wings with a modifier for atmospheric density and gravity, applied dependant on the forward speed of the ship. Or slightly better would be added RCS values dependant on the ship's forward speed. Allowing a ship that would otherwise turn poorly the ability to turn very quickly in atmosphere.
Using afterburner mode for engines (as I suggested in the first message in this thread). 15, maybe 30 seconds (and cooldown for maybe 5 minutes), and eating energy too fast can be a solution
AFAIK one of the main functions of wings after creating lift is to allow velocity to be redirected during turning. So when an emyprion ship turns upwards, it's still going forward, but when a plane does it, it's going close to upwards in line with the wings after turning. I haven't ever modelled it before, but I imagine its something like you change velocity direction to be somewhere between current direction and the direction the wings are pointed, proportional to a combination of speed (wings don't work when at rest), atmospheric density (wings don't work in vacuum) and the currently alignment of wings with the current velocity (wings don't work sideways). Lift would also have the sideways complication - they don't provide lift if you're flying sideways for example. You apply the lift proportional to the speed only to the extent that velocity is in line with the wings. So it's doable, although probably less trivial than just adding a small upwards force with speed. It would be glorious though, as the current flight dynamics feel fairly cheap for such an epic game
